WHAT IS World Wildlife
Fund ?
It is an international Non-governmental organization.
It is founded on April 29, 1961 in Morges,
Switzerland.
It is also the world’s leading conservation
organization and it works in 100 countries.
It is also supported by 1.2 million members in the
United States and close to 5 million people globally.
The World Wildlife Fund’s Mission
World Wildlife Fund’s mission is to stop the
degradation of our planet's natural environment, and to
build a future in which humans live in harmony with
nature.
In order to achieve this mission, WWF focuses its
efforts on two broad areas: Biodiversity and Footprint.
What does the World Wildlife
Fund do?
It conserves the world’s most important forests and
safeguards healthy oceans and marine livelihoods.
It also secures water for people and nature.
It protects the world’s most important and endangered
species.
It doubles the net food availability by refining production
and has distributions to combating waste and
environmental impacts.
It also aims to create a climate-resilient and zero-carbon
world, their vision is a world powered by renewable energy
with communities and ecosystems that are resilient in the
face of climate changes.
Endangered Species
WWF is mainly known for its protection against
endangered species.
Here are some they are trying to save:
● Giant Pandas
● Tigers
● Polar Bears
● Sea Turtles and many more
How does the World Wildlife Fund
impact society?
WWF engages with major companies and their supply
chains to change the way global commodities are
produced, processed, consumed, and financed worldwide.
Working with these companies, WWF seeks to reduce the
negative impact that these commodities and sectors have
on the most ecologically important places and species on
Earth. Transforming how goods are sourced and processed
provides benefits to our planet and can result in tangible
gains for businesses by conserving or preserving their
means of production and, as a result, access to raw
materials over the long term.
Why does the World Wildlife Fund help
both society and nature?
Firstly, WWF helps the forest because people depend on
the forests as they provide us with a vast amount of
resources such as food and medicine.
Secondly, trees store carbon dioxide in the process of
photosynthesis, if trees are cut down, the stored carbon
dioxide will be released into the atmosphere, thus leading
to global warming and climate change.
Lastly, the forests are home to many species of animal
and plants, and certain plants may have undiscovered
medical value. If people cut down trees for agricultural
uses, the habitats of animals will be destroyed and the
medicinal value of the certain plants will be lost forever.
Why are the initiatives of the World
Wildlife Fund important?
Using freshwater as an example for one of the many
initiative that the World Wildlife Fund have done,
Firstly, water is essential for a healthy human life.
However, about 1.1 billion people do not have access to
water while about 2.4 billion people do not have adequate
sanitation.
Secondly, energy and water are interdependent. Energy
is required for pumping, storing, transporting and treating
water, and water is essential for producing almost all kinds
of energy.
Lastly, water is essential for the growing of crops to
accommodate the growing demand for food.
What does the World Wildlife Fund do to
solve the problems mentioned above?
World Wildlife Fund is promoting good water governance
by seeking to change how water is managed around the
world. They are also encouraging the reliance of the same
rivers to better coordinate their shared freshwater
resources.
World Wildlife Fund also helps to protect the freshwater
ecosystem. WWF works on the ground in key river basins
around the world, supporting responsible water use and
infrastructure, and testing and implementing innovative
solutions Using freshwater as an example.

  • 3. WHAT IS World Wildlife Fund ? It is an international Non-governmental organization. It is founded on April 29, 1961 in Morges, Switzerland. It is also the world’s leading conservation organization and it works in 100 countries. It is also supported by 1.2 million members in the United States and close to 5 million people globally.
  • 4. The World Wildlife Fund’s Mission World Wildlife Fund’s mission is to stop the degradation of our planet's natural environment, and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature. In order to achieve this mission, WWF focuses its efforts on two broad areas: Biodiversity and Footprint.
  • 5. What does the World Wildlife Fund do? It conserves the world’s most important forests and safeguards healthy oceans and marine livelihoods. It also secures water for people and nature. It protects the world’s most important and endangered species. It doubles the net food availability by refining production and has distributions to combating waste and environmental impacts. It also aims to create a climate-resilient and zero-carbon world, their vision is a world powered by renewable energy with communities and ecosystems that are resilient in the face of climate changes.
  • 6. Endangered Species WWF is mainly known for its protection against endangered species. Here are some they are trying to save: ● Giant Pandas ● Tigers ● Polar Bears ● Sea Turtles and many more
  • 7. How does the World Wildlife Fund impact society? WWF engages with major companies and their supply chains to change the way global commodities are produced, processed, consumed, and financed worldwide. Working with these companies, WWF seeks to reduce the negative impact that these commodities and sectors have on the most ecologically important places and species on Earth. Transforming how goods are sourced and processed provides benefits to our planet and can result in tangible gains for businesses by conserving or preserving their means of production and, as a result, access to raw materials over the long term.
  • 8. Why does the World Wildlife Fund help both society and nature? Firstly, WWF helps the forest because people depend on the forests as they provide us with a vast amount of resources such as food and medicine. Secondly, trees store carbon dioxide in the process of photosynthesis, if trees are cut down, the stored carbon dioxide will be released into the atmosphere, thus leading to global warming and climate change. Lastly, the forests are home to many species of animal and plants, and certain plants may have undiscovered medical value. If people cut down trees for agricultural uses, the habitats of animals will be destroyed and the medicinal value of the certain plants will be lost forever.
  • 9. Why are the initiatives of the World Wildlife Fund important? Using freshwater as an example for one of the many initiative that the World Wildlife Fund have done, Firstly, water is essential for a healthy human life. However, about 1.1 billion people do not have access to water while about 2.4 billion people do not have adequate sanitation. Secondly, energy and water are interdependent. Energy is required for pumping, storing, transporting and treating water, and water is essential for producing almost all kinds of energy. Lastly, water is essential for the growing of crops to accommodate the growing demand for food.
  • 10. What does the World Wildlife Fund do to solve the problems mentioned above? World Wildlife Fund is promoting good water governance by seeking to change how water is managed around the world. They are also encouraging the reliance of the same rivers to better coordinate their shared freshwater resources. World Wildlife Fund also helps to protect the freshwater ecosystem. WWF works on the ground in key river basins around the world, supporting responsible water use and infrastructure, and testing and implementing innovative solutions Using freshwater as an example.
