This document summarizes a study on employee absenteeism at Fourrts (India) Laboratories Pvt Limited. The study aimed to identify the main reasons for absenteeism, determine if absenteeism was more due to social/religious reasons or illness, and examine the effect of shift systems on absenteeism. The study found that the most common causes of absenteeism were workplace harassment, family issues, illness, and job hunting. However, the study was limited to one company with a sample of 100 employees over 15 days, so the conclusions may not be generalizable to other organizations. Reducing absenteeism is important for industries and productivity in India.
