7. Taj Mahal, Agra, Uttar Pradesh
Taj Mahal is declared as one of the 7 Wonders of the world.
Located on the banks of river Yamuna, this ivory-white marble
mausoleum was built by Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife
Mumtaz. It is a monument of true love. As per the last wish of
Mumtaz, Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal to signify their eternal
love.
Amer Fort, Rajasthan
Amer Fort is one of the top historical places in India. It
is built with both red and white sandstone and the
carvings on the ceiling and the walls are simply
marvelous. The best part of the Amer Fort is the
Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace) that has mirror mosaics
and colored glasses.
8. Qutub Minar, Delhi
Qutub Minar was built to depict the first Muslim kingdom in
northern India. It stands at an incredible height of 240ft but
the most interesting fact about this historical monument of
India is that it has an iron pillar that has not rusted despite
the fact that it has been over 2,000 years.
Hawa Mahal, Jaipur, Rajasthan
Hawa Mahal is considered to be one of the tallest buildings
in the world without any foundation. Despite being curved, it
still stands firm due to its pyramidal shape. This monument
is known for the intricate lattice work on all of its 953 tiny
windows. At first glance, it looks like a crown, which is a sight
to behold.
9. Golden Temple, Punjab
One of the most famous Gurudwara in the entire world, Sri
Harmandir Sahib is one of the important spiritual places in
India. While it has been around for a long while, it was
rebuilt with pure gold and marble in 1830 by Maharaja
Ranjit Singh. Located in the heart of Amritsar, it is visited by
more than a hundred thousand pilgrims every day.
Each day, over a hundred thousand people partake the
Langar here.
India Gate, Delhi
This 42-meter monument is often compared with Arch de
Triomphe in Paris and Arch of Constantine in Rome.Dedicated
to the 82,000 soldiers of both Indian and British descent who
fought in World War One and 13,300 soldiers who were
martyredd in the 3rd Anglo-Afghan War, it was built in 1931.
It is the spot where Amar Jawan Jyoti – the eternal flame-
continues to burn.
10. Jallianwala Bagh, Punjab
The infamous Jallianwala Bagh massacre took place near this
monument near the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
Covering around 6.5 acres, it is the place where General Dyer
ordered a mass shooting on Baisakhi. Thousands of innocents
succumbed to death in this incident. It was one of the
incidents that ignited the fire of Independence revolution.
A memorial was erected here on 13th April 1961 by the then
president, Dr. Rajendra Prasad.
Gwaliorr Fort, Madhya Pradesh
A legendary fort of its time, Gwalior Fort has been around for
a long time. Some sources suggest that it was constructed in
or before 6 century Mughal Emporer Babur described this
place to be a pearl among Indian fortresses.
The second oldest reference to the number zero can be found
here. Situated in the historic city of Gwalior, it is the part of
the identity of the city that has seen many dynasties come
and go.

17. Rajasthani
Rajasthani cuisine is a reflection of war-like lifestyles and the
availability of ingredients in the region.
As the state has limited resources of water, Rajasthani food
requires less water to prepare.
The people of Rajasthan usually prefer Pyaaj Kachori, Bajre
ki roti (millet bread), Lahsun ki chutney (hot garlic paste).
North Indian
The cuisine of North India is rich in curries and thick sauces
with bread and yogurts. The most common combination
of curry is Onion, tomato, ginger, and garlic.
North Indian cuisine is popular in stateslike Punjab, Chandigarh,
Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh.

Gujarat is majorly a vegetarian state because of the influence of Jain
vegetarianism.

vegetables and spices.
Most famous Gujarati dishes are Dhokla, Khakhda, Khandvi, Patrode,

Goan
Goan cuisine consists of foods which are popular in Goa. Food like rice,
seafood, coconut, vegetables, meat, pork, and local spices are some of the
main ingredients in Goan cuisine.
Goa is located in a tropical climate where spices and flavors are intense.
Goan uses kokum, which is another distinct feature of Goan cuisine.

19. Bihari
Bihari cuisine is similar to North Indian cuisine but it has
influence from other East Indian cuisines too.
Fish dishes are especially common in the North Bihar due
to the number of rivers.
Bihar’s famous dishes are Bihari kebabs, litti chokha, Bihari
chicken masala, Sattu (gram flour) paratha, Chokha (spicy
mashed eggplant and potatoes).
South Indian
South Indian dishes include Rasam, Dosa, Sambhar, Uttapam,
Upma, Rava Idli, Medu Vada, Lemon rice and Appam.
The dishes are served with coconut chutney.
South Indian cuisine includes the cuisines of the five statesof
India. They are Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu,
and Telangana.
20. Maharashtrian
Marathi cuisine has different attributes.
Maharashtrian cuisine includes mild and spicy dishes and grains
like wheat, rice, jowar, bajra, vegetables, lentils and fruit are
