4. HEALTH SAFETY
According to the Factories Act,
1948, every factory shall be kept
clean and free from effluents from
any drain. It also provides that
floors, walls, doors, windows of
every factory shall be kept clean.
5. WELFARE
The factories act, 1948 states that if the
number of workers in a factory crosses
150, then the factory owners should
construct and maintain shelters, rest-
rooms and lunch rooms for the workers.
6. HAZARDOUS PROCESS
This section states that every occupier of a
factory involving any hazardous process
should: accurately maintain the health and
medical records of all the workers in a
factory. It is mainly for those workers who
are working in the manufacturing of toxic or
harmful substances.
7. WORKING HOURS OF
ADULTS
Working Hours in India: As per the Factories Act
1948, every adult (a person who has completed
18 years of age) cannot work for more than 48
hours in a week and not more than 9 hours in
a day.
8. Annual Leave With
Wages
Every employee who has served for a period
of 240 days or more during a continuous
period of 12 months in any establishment is
entitled to leave with wages for a period of
15 days. This leave will be allowed in the
subsequent 12 months. And, they may
accumulate up to a maximum period of sixty
days (two months).
