1. Identify the origins and
dynamics of culture, society, and
political identities.
2. Observe social, political, and
cultural behavior and phenomena
through differentiated
instruction.
3. Accept social, cultural, and
political change.
Culture, society, and politics are concepts.
They exist in the realm of ideas and thoughts.
As such, they cannot be seen or touched and
yet they influence the way we see and
experience our individual and collective lives
as social beings.
Our categories as male/female,
rich/ poor, or tall/short, and even
the problematic effect of the color
of our skin are evidences of the
operation of these social forces.
Our genders, for example, mirror the way
our culture 'reads' us as member of
society. The personal traits and social
positions that members of a society
attach to being male or female reflect
this insight. Even before we see the first
light of day, our world is already being
organized by society:
Students as integral members
individuals and of the society are
expected to value their roles in
the society, apply the knowledge
they learned from school, and
translate the gained ideas into
actions beneficial to nation
building.
Idea (How the students form their ideas regarding the
topic):
Creativity (How the students’ structures their
sentences and information. Does it make sense? Is it
entertaining?):
Presentation (Does the student make eye contact with
the audience? Are they presenting to the class, or
staring at the ground?):
Voice (Is the students’ voice loud and clear? Do they
project, or do they mumble?):
In the five situations, it can be observed that human behavior,
whether individual or collective, is propelled by powerful
motivators.
Values are a person's or a collectivity's principles or standards of
behavior and are considered as judgment of what is important
in life.
Belief, on the other hand, is something one
accepts as true or real. Lack of evidence.
Beliefs may be based on tradition, faith,
experience, scientific research, or some
combination of these. Both values and
beliefs are commonly shared by a particular
culture.
Consider the following situations:
Taking "selfies" is Alyssa's preoccupation. It
became a habit when her parents gave her a
phone on her birthday.
Kapitan Tim is the incumbent mayor of the City
of Amin- Amin. His son, Timmy Jr. is currently
running for the congressional seat of the
district, a position occupied by his mother
Cong. Valencia for about three consecutive
terms.
Amina, a college student, is living alone in
Manila. Both of her parents are OFWs working
in the Middle East. She visits them every
summer break.
As a youth volunteer, Verna finds the rainy
season a busy season due to the frequency of
typhoon-related disasters. Sometimes she even
spends her own money to buy relief goods for
typhoon victims.
Michael almost missed the chance to finish
high school because he had been absent most
of the time playing Clash of Clans (COC).

4th: Personal expression of a
political principle.
5th: Normal behavioral pattern
Why knowing Values
and Beliefs are
important?
How can we improve
our awareness on the
social, cultural and
political changes?
WHAT ARE YOUR
REALIZATION
TODAY?
As a student, how will
you accept the
cultural, social, and
political changes
happening in our
society?
A selfie is a self-photograph, usually taken with
camera a phone held in the hand or supported by a
selfie stick. Selfies are often intended to be shared on
social networking sites such as Facebook, Instagram,
and Twitter. They are usually taken to capture the
ongoing mood and unique backgrounds. They are
flattering, made to appear casual, and impromptu. In
the photo above, offer a critical insight on how selfie
can be read as an image of the social. Do so by writing
three paragraph essay that best describe the several
kuha'rili taken by the people in the photo.

Notas do Editor

  1. In other words, our sociality is defined by the very categories that we possess, the categories assigned to us by society at large.
  2. as boys or girls, we have been assigned appropriate colors, toys, clothes, mannerisms, etiquette, careers to pursue, and choice of mate.
  3. That’s why as a students, as part of the member of our society, you should have an application of all the knowledge you gain in school. That is part of your role.
  4. These are the things that we believe are important in the way we live.
