PERSONAL PROFILE
A Politics graduate from Cardiff University, with a skill set that includes excellent communication,
organisation, team work and project skills. Work experience in administration, customer service
roles, sales and voluntary police work. Interested in working within a challenging environment for
a large organisation, utilising the skills I have gained.
RELEVANT SKILLS
Communication Skills – Demonstrated oral and written communication skills in all work
experiences and throughout university. Customer service skills have been developed though
work in various types of business, especially the hospitality industry. Further, communication with
the public has been heightened through working with the police, dealing with the public as a
major part of the volunteering scheme.
Problem Solving – As a political scientist, problem solving has become second nature. I am
logical, analyse issues and am able to stand back and take an impartial stance in different
situations. This has stood me in good stead throughout university where I have learnt to juggle
academic work with volunteering and other activities.
Sales – Experienced in face-to-face, telephone and email sales. Learning the importance of
company and product knowledge has been essential in meeting targets.
Ability to work independently – Worked unsupervised throughout university, brought to the
forefront during a research project in my final year. Further, independent work has been essential
throughout my time in admin. I am quick to pick up things and able to learn as I go and in equal
measure, not afraid to ask questions where necessary.
Teamwork – All work experiences to date have involved working with people, from collaborating
on orders in the sales industry, to working as part of a busy team of production workers in a
factory. Hard working and positive, I understand the high value of working together to achieve
results.
IT Skills – Worked with a range of databases and statistical computer packages including Excel
and SPSS. Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages, including Outlook.
First Aid – Successfully completed a HABC Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work
