This is to confirm that I had known and taught Mr. Sim during the time of his attendance in
the three-year Diploma in Industrial Design Course at Nanyang Polytechnic from April 2010
to April 2013.
Mr. Sim has a questioning and critical mind. He enjoys the challenge of finding novel and
innovative solutions between the intersection of business and design specializations. His
work shows thoughtful creativity and he has demonstrated integrity and an open mind through
his work. To add, he has developed professional skills and high-level competencies in using
the advanced suite of Computer Aided Industrial Design Tools in conceptualizing new
product design, experience and service.
Outside the classroom, Mr. Sim loves expanding his design learning experiences by engaging
in both local and overseas design competitions, design exhibitions, overseas student exchange
programs and design-related activities. His work covers the broad spectrum of advertising,
packaging, illustration, exhibition, product design and photography. He had won numerous
design awards and was featured prominently in several local newspapers, with impressive
reviews ofhis works.
Over and beyond his studies, Mr. Sim had enlarged his work experience by taking up part-
time design employment during the course of his studies, having the ability to manage his
time effectively. He is driven, independent and industrious. He has a positive outlook and is
responsible and sincere. More significantly, he is an outstanding student, a willing
contributor to class activities and a loyal friend to those in need.
I unreservedly recommend this student for University studies and a career with the creative
industr' s, which he undoubtedly deserves.
