The Orlov Trotter is a
horse breed with a fast
trot, noted for its
outstanding speed and
stamina. It is the most
famous Russian horse.
3. TIMOR
Timor Ponies are strong, and agile, and have a quiet
and willing temperament. The ponies usually stand
10 to 12 hands high, and are usually brown, black,
and bay.
4. LIPIZZANER
Measure between 14.2 and 15.2 hands. Lipizzans have a
long head, with a straight profile. The jaw is deep, the
ears small, the eyes large and expressive. They have a
neck that is sturdy, yet arched. The legs are wellmuscled and strong.
5. TARPAN
Tarpan, is an extinct subspecies of wild horse. The last
individual of this subspecies died in captivity in Russia in
1909.
6. ARAB
The Arabian or Arab
horse is a breed of
horse that originated
on the Arabian
Peninsula. The Arabian
is one of the most
easily recognizable
horse breeds in the
world. Today, Arabian
horses are found in
almost every modern
breed of riding horse.
7. FJORD HORSE
The Fjord horse is a
relatively small but very
strong breed.
It has a strong, arched
neck, sturdy legs and
good feet, and a
compact, muscular
body. The hair coat
becomes particularly
heavy and thick in the
winter.
8. NORMANDY COB
The Norman Cob is a
breed of horse that
originated in the
province of Normandy
in northern France. The
Norman Cob is a midsized horse. Its
conformation is similar
to a robust
Thoroughbred. The
breed is known for its
lively, long-striding trot.
