As per the Harvard Study of Communications, it only takes seven seconds for us to make a first impression on another human being, only seven seconds. A part of this study says that 38% of what makes up the first impression is how we sound. 7% of a first impression is the words we say. 55% of a first impression is how we look The dress. The standing posture The handshake a hand The eye contact. That is our personal appearance. Most of the times, we focus on what to say to make a first impression. Studies show it’s not as much what we say, the importance is more of how we say. If our first impression of someone is positive, we'll probably act warmer toward that person. Some observations made by the study also revealed the followings: 1. 67% of people fail to make an eye contact. 2. 47% people with lack of smile. 3. 33% have bad posture 4. 26% have a very weak handshake 5. 21% were found playing with hairs or touching their face too often 6. 9% were found to be using too many hand gestures 7. 65% of hiring managers say that the first impression plays a major role in hiring decision
