1. Refurbish Recycle Repackage Rebrand Remarket Specialists in the refurbishment and remarketing of IT and consumer electronics.
2. Maximise the return on your returns: No matter how well made a consumer electrical device is and no matter what legislation is put in place regarding customer support, every manufacturer and retailer will, at some point, have to face the issue of customer returns. In fact, over 70% of all consumer electrical returns are actually found to have no underlying fault. Consumers having a “change of heart”, or perhaps a lack of technical ability to install a product or even simply making an impulse buy which they then regret, can lead to a volume of returns greater than originally forecast. The question is...... What is the best method of dealing with “YOUR” returns ?
3. The Choices: Sell off your returns as they are in a “raw” untested condition Collate, screen, test and refurbish your returns in-house and sell them on as a job lot to traders or individually on ebay or other websites. Have the product refurbished by a specialist company and then remarket the product yourself via perhaps an ebay site or your own online website. Have the product refurbished by a company who specialise in a full package, including the remarketing of the finished product. Combine 2 or more of the above options to create more than one channel for multiple product groups. Which route will work best for you ?
4. Selling your returns untested Obviously the quickest and easiest way to deal with returns is simply to sell them “as is”. Collate the stock, send out a list and sell it to the highest bidder. The advantages of this are clear. Quick payment, very little costs associated with dealing with the returns and as you can do this on a regular basis, minimum storage costs. The disadvantages though may often outweigh the speed and simplicity of this method. The money you achieve by selling via this method is likely to be low (sometimes as little as 10% of retail), you will have no control ultimately over where the stock ends up and worst of all, you may even find that some “jobbers” attempt to put non working product back through the returns channel again. It’s quick but is it the solution for you ?
5. Keeping it all in-house The option to collate, screen, test and refurbish your own products will possibly appeal. The DIY approach means that there will be no need for third party intervention and you can control every aspect of both quality and price with no fear of treading on your own toes. But are you really an expert in this field ? Would the costs of setting up a whole branch of your business greatly outweigh any costs associated with using a skilled and professional third party partner? Are you in effect just creating more work which will ultimately add further costs to products which you are already about to lose money on? Still tempted by DIY ?
6. Subcontracting your refurbishment If the thought of setting up your own refurbishment operation doesn’t turn you on but you’d still like to remarket your returns yourself then using a professional refurbishment company is the answer. The advantage of this method is that you can use the skills and overheads of an already existing business, whilst still keeping control on what product is sold and where. In fact if you sell to end users, you will achieve the highest price. The downside of course is that you will be ultimately paying a company to get your stock into an A grade condition, with no guarantee that you will actually be able to sell it after. Also is it worth paying a company £2.50 to refurbish an item you may only sell for £6-£7? Is this method right for ALL of your returns ?
7. Full returns management If you do not have the time to remarket your own products, do not have the facility to refurbish them but still want a better option than selling them off untested, full returns management may be the answer. This way, all of your returns get collected, screened, tested, fixed, refurbished and then remarketed, without costing you a single penny. The returns management company simply make a commission on selling the refurbished returns (usually 25-30%) and you simply get paid at the end of the process. Of course there is one possible downside to this method and that is whether the company will sell your returns for a high enough price to get you enough return Can you be sure you are getting the right price?

Our ability to repair products down to board level means that we can squeeze the very best yield rate for our clients. So confident are we of this, that any unit we fail to recover, does not get charged. Current yield rates: (March 2011) PVR Products 85% LCD TV (19”-42”) 92% 7” Linux Netbook 90% 8.9” Atom Netbook 97% DVD & HDMI DVD 92% The higher the yield, the better the return.
10. Protect your brand name Occasionally it is prudent for manufacturers and retailers to avoid placing refurbished versions of a current product into the market as this can sometimes effect the sale of new products. By rebranding your returns, it is possibly to avoid price conflicts with new and refurbished items and also ensure there are no issues with customers attempting to return refurbished faulty goods through the retail returns channel. Our Evision and Esonic brands have proved popular with our clients as they do not seem to affect the resale value of the product but offer 100% protection to your brand. We are also able to offer rebranding under one of your own brand names or choice of brand name at minimal additional cost Are you protected ?
11. Investing for the future When dealing with customer returns, there will always be an element of waste. From cardboard packaging or EPS foam inserts, to the faulty, non repairable units themselves. As a registered waste treatment centre, Highpoint has invested in the latest technology and techniques to ensure we recycle as much of this waste as we can. Under our current system: All cardboard packaging is compacted and sent for recycling All surplus manuals and paper flyers are collated for recycling All EPS foam packaging is compressed and sent for recycling All plastic bags and sleeves are collated for recycling All Electrical goods are disposed with under WEEE legislation Just doing our little bit to help the environment.

We hope that the services that Highpoint offer, will enhance your already existing procedures and perhaps add a new dimension to what you may already have in place. We firmly believe that our clients should be able to have complete control over what we do for them. So not only do we have a “real time” login, enabling you to monitor our progress but from the very start we will talk to you about our test procedures, packaging options and distribution services so that you are able to make the right decisions. We understand that this is “your” product and needs to be handled in the way that “you” want it. We are looking for forward thinking business partners to work with to achieve the very best results.
