2. Eye care professionals may decide to implement a
series of prisms, which can be utilised where the
hemianopia is situated. It is a clear plastic sheet
which has the ability to be fitted to a host of glasses
which can be easily applied to your glasses. These
temporary prisms can be easily removed and are
placed on the back of your specs.
1.Hemianopic spectacles
3. ● When it comes to permanent prisms, these are
positioned into the actual lens.
● This collection of creations include
● yoked prism,
● bi-part double Fresnel prism and
● periscopic prism.
6. 2.Entropion spectacles
It has an additional extension behind the spectacle
frame
And it is roughly parallel to the lower eyewire known
as crutch or gallery.
This gallery supports the skin of the lower lid.
It is one of the optical aids for entropion.
8. ● A short-term solution for entropion is the use of
skin tape, an adhesive made specifically for the
skin. At night, apply a small piece of tape
vertically to the cheek to pull the lower eyelid
down enough so that it does not turn inward while
asleep.
● This inspired to make this spectacle.
10. 3. Ptosis crutches
● Special glasses for ptosis may be used. These glasses
have a crutch attached to hold up the eyelid.
● Metal frames are used than plastic frames
● This is similar to entropion spectacles.
● Special contact lenses may be used for ptosis. These
lenses help in correcting the drooping of eyelid.
● Moderate to severe Ptosis – In moderate to severe
cases surgery may be the only option to correct the
eyelid.
13. 4.Clip ons
● Unlike normal eyeglasses, clip-on sunglasses
come with just the two tints, attached by a nose
bridge. This structure, when clipped onto your
normal prescription glasses, gears up to serve as
a pair of prescription sunglasses.
14. Types of clip-ons
Standard – The standard clip-on sunglasses use a clip on the nose
bridge. The clip facilitates the clip-on sunglasses to hold effectively
onto your prescription glasses.
Flip-up – The unique aspect of flip-on sunglasses is that they don’t
have to be removed and inserted, unlike the other variants. These
types are attached to your prescription glasses using a magnet.
Magnetic – The magnetic clip-on sunglasses attach to the sides of
your prescription glasses by utilising a magnet. They are relatively
more convenient and easy to use as compared to the other variants.
15.
16. 5.Drop ins
It is similar to clip ons but it should be
mounted back of the spectacle pair.
It can be both sunglasses or
prescribed glasses.
18. 6.Folding frames
The frames can be easily, horizontally folded until
they are parallel in a common plane and close
together with their temples separately folded and
lying across them. The folded spectacles, which are
small and thin in size and conveniently arranged for
carrying and storing, are practical and considered a
brand-new design.
21. 7.Hinged front spectacles
● It has two fronts
● One is fixed
● Another one is flip down and wear when needed.
● The flipping front has
● near or
● sunglasses
23. 8.Lorgnettes
● These are specially designed frame front
● It is a pair of glasses or opera glasses held in front of a person’s
eyes by a long handle at one side.
● The lorgnette was usually used as a piece of jewelry, rather than to
enhance vision. Fashionable ladies usually preferred them to
spectacles. These were very popular at masquerade parties and
used often at the opera. They were worn popularly in the 19th
century.
● .Lorgnettes were made from a range of different materials including
tortoise shell, horn, silver, gold, enamel, and various kinds of
jewels.

26. 9.Monocle
● It consists of a circular lens, generally with
a wire ring around the circumference that
can be attached to a string or wire. The
other end of the string is then connected to
the wearer’s clothing to avoid losing the
monocle
27. There are three types :
● The first style consists of a simple loop of metal with a
lens that was slotted into the eye orbit
● The second style, which was developed in
the 1890s, was the most elaborate, consisting of a frame
with a raised edge-like extension known as the gallery.
● The third style of monocle was frameless.
This consisted of a cut piece of glass, with a serrated
edge to provide a grip .
31. 10.Makeup spectacles
●
A common design for a pair of makeup readers is a frame with
a swiveling lens allowing you to see clearly while you apply
your makeup. When using this design simply swivel the lens
to the eye you are not working on while you apply makeup to
the opposite eye.
