What do we do? We provide recruitment consultancy services to companies in the IT and Telco industries, our blue chip clients include the likes of IBM and Nokia. We have been doing this for 30 years and have a great reputation.
Why do companies like IBM and Nokia require our services? We are specialist headhunters. We specifically find people for our clients whose skills are rare and are in high demand. Our specialist areas are sales, management and high level technical roles. These people often command salaries in excess of £100,000. These people, or candidates as we refer to them, are not especially looking to change jobs and, when they are thinking about a move they don’t have the time to look for a job themselves. They realise that sending a CV to the HR department of a global organisation is not the most targeted way of securing their ideal job. That’s where we come in, we save our clients valuable time by quickly finding them exactly the people they want and who would not usually be available to them via advertising
There are a lot of recruitment companies, why are we different? A consultative and long term approach. As we are a providing a service rather than selling a product, reputation and conducting ourselves with integrity is very important. Some of our client relationships are 20 years old. It takes a long time to build that level of trust with a bluechip organisation. We do not advertise on job boards, we headhunt. This is just one of the ways we add value High quality, low volume approach – For every 2 CVs we send to a client, at least one or usually both is interviewed. Our hit ratio is one of the best in the industry which can be verified by some of our client testimonials. Specialist Market Knowledge - Our highly experienced consultants and dedicated research teams take the time to understand our client’s market, culture, business demands and processes. This ensures that we only target the right individuals Global reach – Over one third of our business is outside of the UK. Our approach is just as successful across EMEA, US and AsiaPac
Don’t take our word for it, here is what some of our clients say about us: Shaylor Thompson have worked extremely successfully with IBM for the last 12 years as a preferred recruitment partner, and from first hand experience I can testify to their dedicated and professional approach. Their performance speaks for itself as their achievements against CV’s sent, interviews and placements is outstanding. Vanessa Standley, IBM Senior Recruitment Officer – S&D I have worked with the team of Shaylor Thompson for over 10 years. Not only do they deliver operationally, they provide candidates and as a result great hires that exactly fit the profile given. I know that I can trust the team to go the extra mile, I would never hesitate to recommend Shaylor Thompson. Top qualities: Great Results, Personable, High Integrity. Annette Terry, Global HR Director, Canonical Shaylor Thompson are a highly effective recruitment company who take the time to understand the brief, provides good quality, well qualified candidates, and manages the process efficiently and effectively to minimize the client's workload. Top qualities: Great Results, On Time, High Integrity David Gray, EMEA Sales Director, OpenPages
Graduates:Due to our unique approach and high standards we prefer to develop our own world class consultants from the ground up. We look for just the raw ingredients in a graduate and as long as they show the commitment and hardwork necessary to ‘stay the course’ (typically 2 years before becoming fully fledged), they can be assured the rewards will be great: A fun, relaxed and flexible working environment. Exceptional earnings opportunity with a very achievable and uncapped OTE of £40k in 2nd year £50k in the 3rd year. Become industry recognised as the ‘go to’ consultant in your field of expertise i.e. an opportunity to make a name for yourself. Career progression into major account management within two years or man management within three years. Employee Share Scheme available to all after 1 year. As STR are a small company, all employees remain close to where the business decisions are made and are often involved in making those decisions. Team incentives/rewards have included club trip to Prague, day at the races, paintballing etc..
