2. In today’s modern world, many distractions
are keeping Australians away from living a
healthy lifestyle. They would rather remain
in their listless state than exert effort, only

As such, many businesses are making an
effort to push the importance of physical
activity.
Physical activity is anything that

movements, like walking or climbing
the stairs, to heavy physical
activities, like lifting weights in the
gym, anybody can promote better
health if motivated at a certain
extent.

3. The Level of Participation
At present, the fitness industry has more than 2,550 businesses
registered. The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reported that
attendance in fitness clubs have increased by 2.1% or 18.3% of the
population in 2009-10. Most clients (91%) are living in the
metropolitan regions, while others (9%) are from rural areas. This
made 84% of gyms and fitness centre owners set up their facilities in
the capital and other nearby cities.

World revealed that rising health
consciousness and obesity levels in

demand towards personal trainers.
The personal training industry is
growing steadily over the past five
years, giving way to more fitness and
weight loss programs. In line with
Australia’s economic growth, the level
of discretionary income has increased
and aligned with the overall economy.
As a result, many Australians have the
budget to spend on personal training.

5. The IBIS World added that the location of these personal trainers
depend on the population of state and territories. New South Wales
and Victoria, for instance, cover at least 56.9% of the population
and 58% personal trainers. This means that it is possible to have
more than one trainer per client.
The lack of physical activity can lead to something serious in the
future. As Australians are living a busier lifestyle, it is important to be
involved in any physical activity whether through light to moderate
tasks to heavier activities that involve hiring personal trainers.
