 Review supplier PPAP and identify accountable person(s) for approval sign off.
 Prepare customer PPAP’s and outline and clarify changes with customer(s).
 Serve as Fuel Systems’ Voice of the Customer and change management representative for Excellence
Through Quality (ETQ).
o Work closely with developers to modify “off the shelf” program to meet the needs of Caterpillar
users and prepare employees for system transition with timelines and initial user training. Also
make recommendations for migrating open and old work into ETQ.
 Develop ETQ training material for different program applications and different audiences including
logistics, production, receiving, and planners.
 Collaborate with developers on the Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) module for Gen 2
updates and enhancements (another ETQ module).
o Provide valuable input on specific uses and needs of new computer program for the processes
pertaining to PCN, PPAP and Deviation.
 Partner with engineering, operations, and suppliers to identify and resolve issues, ensuring process
control and on time delivery to customers.
 Work closely with Lead Auditor on internal ISO and Caterpillar Quality Management System
(CQMS) audits in Manufacturing, Assembly, Maintenance, and Purchasing. Also function as auditor
guide for third party audits.
 Initiate Incoming Quality Audit (IQA), In Process Validation (IPV), Quality Gate (QG),
Contamination Control audits, and Customer Acceptance Validation (CAV) audits for new product in
preparation for Gateway 5.
 Perform key project management functions in collaboration with engineering, purchasing, and
logistics to ensure product is validated, PPAP’ed, and able to meet forecasted demands.
 Communicate directly with customers regarding changes to steel source and internal and external
process changes.
 Key Quality Department subject matter expert in Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIW's).
o Work with a cross sectional team to focus on a specific process, assembly, or machining station to
improve through put, safety, or quality.
o Proactively identified gaps in the process or production method that could cause quality and/or
safety issues and offer suggestions for equipment improvements.
 Lead Quality Team Member on Fuel Systems New Production Introduction (NPI) program for Next
Generation Common Rail product.
o Maintain quality scorecard, investigate internal and supplier product and process quality issues,
and provide weekly reports to upper management.
 Train new quality employees on CQMS, Caterpillar Production System (CPS), guiding principles,
audit requirements, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis.
