Recruitment and selection
The Recruitment Manager works under the Organizational
Development Manager who in turn reports to the Human
Resource Manager. Recruitment department is responsible
for recruiting employees from pool of applicants.
At Nestle recruitment is done through various methods.
Advertisements are published in all renowned newspapers
and also on the company’s website.

Employee referrals:
Employee referrals are one of the methods that are
used very commonly at Nestle. An employee usually
recommends someone they know who is suitable for
the job. Nestle believes that this method can
reduce job turnover and provide them with people
that can prove to be good for the company.
Direct Application:
Direct applications are also received by Nestle. These
applications are handled by the Recruitment Department.
Nestle has excellent reputation regarding the pay and
benefits given to its employees. Therefore a large number of
applications are received by Nestle.
Campus Recruiting: Graduate Programs
Each year, The Recruitment Department recruits a number of
top young graduates into different areas of the business.
Nestle often contacts placement offices of well-reputed
institutions to provide them with good students who could
serve to be good professionals. They conduct on-campus
interviews of students and students are first required to
submit their resumes to the firm.
Private Employment agencies:
Private Employment companies are also contacted.Nestle
quite often takes help from private employment agencies for
the low level employees security guard, tea boys,truck
drivers and common laborers etc. are usually recruited
through these agencies. These agencies arrange people on
short notices as compared to other methods of recruitment.
Advertisements:
Nestle advertises in various newspapers for The Dawn, The
News, Daily Times, The Nation,The Daily Star etc. to attract
people from all around the country. Advertising helps those
people who are interested to apply for the post.

Online Recruitment Process:
Interested candidates are required to fill out application
form for the relevant job vacancy through the internet job
site. They are also required to submit their resume. Once
the application is complete, candidates receive a
confirmation message telling them that their application is
received and it is being processed.
The Nestle website gives the opportunity to interested
candidates to apply for jobs or internship program by
submitting their CV and filling out the application form.
Selection:
It is as important to hire the right person, as it is to
integrate newcomers in the organization so that
their skills and behavior can merge smoothly with
the company’s culture.

Nestle uses a systematic method of selection for employees.

encompassing three key areas:

Training and development:
There are various type of training and those types are:

 Training on Nutrition Awareness
 Product Knowledge
 Leadership through 360 Degree Workshop
Communication Skill
This training mainly emphasizes on the corporate
communication. In different situations of different positions
employees need to communicate in different layers of the
organization. In this training trainers are mainly the senior
employees in the managerial position. Most interesting aspect
of this training is that, after the training session the trainers
and trainees arrange a role playing session to practice the skill
in real life model.
Presentation Skill
Here employees are trained about the presentation skills
which are very necessary in day to day life. The trainers of this
session are also the senior employees in the management level
or sometimes the training team brings experts for it.
Especially for the employees of the Nutrition function doctors
are bought up by the training team. It is mostly class room
based training.
Training on Nutrition Awareness
Nestlé itself is very well-known for its nutrition related
products; as a result the company also arranges awareness
session to aware the employees about the nutrition in our
day to day life. Mainly the nutrition specialists are welcome
to conduct the session. Along with that the company also
arrange nutrition awareness program in the different schools
in the rural arrears.
Product Knowledge
Particularly this training is organized for the new joiners of
the company; in compare to world market the product line is
not so extended in Bangladeshi market. However day by day
new products are being introduced in this region. As a result
this training is arranged with the help of marketing team by
the HR training team for the new joiners.
Leadership through 360 Degree Workshop
This program is fort all the employees of Nestlé; the
company nurture the talent from the very beginning of an
employee to become a leader and as well as a good
successor. Moreover in this training it is also emphasized that
how to work in a team and follow leadership; senior
employees and as well as the renowned trainers for
leadership training is bought here. It’s basically class room
based training.
Experience Based Development:
Rated as the most impactful of all development, experience
based development in Nestlé is achieved through domestic
mission assignments, projects, job rotations, stretch
assignments, overseas mission and expatriate assignments.
Relationship Based Development:
Corporate Mentoring Programme will help you to accelerate
your development through relationship-based support,
transfer of experience, of key insights and unwritten rules as
well as, bringing exposure to the areas beyond the current
role.
Education Based Development:
Nomination based international programs delivered through
Rive Reine allows our employees to grow through education-

management. Distance learning programs called Executive
General Management Program (EGMP) and Advanced General
