“The inter library loan means sharing of the
resources of one library by the other libraries on
demand, when they are needed by its user i.e.
sharing one’s scholarly materials with others”.
It also called as DDS, Inter lending, resource
sharing, etc.

The sharing of library resources started with the
concept of inter library loan, under which a library
can get a document from another library on loan
for a certain period.

All libraries can’t procure all the information.
Due to;
• Tremendous increase of resources.
• Lack of space in libraries.
• Lack of Budget
And to fulfill the need of our users.

Interlibrary loan has two operations: borrowing
and lending.
• Borrowing: Books, Articles, (from Group Libraries )
• Lending: Books, Articles, other project related
information (For Internal Members ).

• We are maintaining ILL statistics with the help
of an Excel sheet.
15. Conclusion
Thus, this is about my section (Interlibrary loan
section). Anyway, the theme of this section is to
serve the users in different approaches as much
as possible.
