2. INTRODUCTION
BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money - Bhim App)
Mobile App developed by National Payments
Corporation of India (NPCI), based on the Unified
Payment Interface (UPI).
Launched in New Delhi on 30 December 2016.

3. WHY?
After demonetisation public had to face many
problems while transaction of money.
Bhim App was launched for the same allows the user
to instantly transfer money between the bank
accounts of any two parties.
It is built over the Immediate Payment
Service infrastructure.

4. BENEFITS
Allows users to send or receive money to other UPI
payment addresses or scanning QR code or account
number.
Allows users to check current balance in their bank
accounts and to choose which bank account to use
for conducting transactions.
Users can create their own QR code for a fixed
amount of money, which is helpful in merchant —
seller — buyer transactions.

8. HOW TO USE?
Set up UPI PIN
UPI-PIN
UPI-PIN (UPI Personal Identification Number) is a
4-6 digit secret code you create/set during first time
registration with this BHIM App.
You have to enter this UPI-PIN to authorize all bank
transactions.
If you have already set up an UPI-PIN with other
UPI Apps you can use the same on Bharat Interface
for Money.

10. SEND MONEY
•You can also generate
the QR code to request
payment.
• To generate QR code
you have to only enter
amount and remarks.
• The payer would scan
this QR code and accept
the payment.

13. LIMITATIONS
You can add only one bank account at a time.
You can have only two Virtual payment address.
The first would be default containing your mobile
number while you can set the second VPA.
These may be the limitations to a few people but
such limitations makes this app simpler.

14. IMPROVEMENTS REQUIRED
It should give the flexibility to enlist multiple bank
account.
The app should fetch the mobile number from the
contacts of the phone. The Phonepe app uses this
feature. However, once you save a number for future
use, It would appear in the BHIM app itself.
There should be a feature to capture QR code which
is shared with you. You can’t scan such QR code.
