1. FMP 2 Diary Week 9
This week I accomplished three parts of my project; I added sound effects to the nerd getting his head crushed,
I filmed killer POV shots through bushes and I filmed the rest of the bad girl scene where the licentious boy and
girl die, the production this time may have had a few mistakes but it was mostly successful. I had two obstacles
which I had to overcome: lighting and music. Lighting was difficult because days were lighter than usual and
any filter I put over it didn’t make it look darker. I overcame this problem by reorganising my film schedule to
film much later in the day. Music was also difficult to achieve because iMovie didn’t have enough space for me
to add music to the film, most of the footage was full of sound effects but I overcame this problem by getting
rid of any unnecessary sound effects. The filming of the bad girl scene went well this week because there were
no mistakes and I was able to do my first practical effects by sticking fake scissors in my head and wiping fake
blood on my face. I shot this week’s footage by filming everything on my college iPad and I used a lot of fake
blood and a scissors head band to make practical effects. I then edited it all together on iMovie and used the
platform’s filters to make all the shots look darker. I’m going to move forward by filming scenes later in the day
to create a proper dark atmosphere and plan where to place sound effects so there’s enough space for music.
The strengths of my project so far are the realistic looking killer POV shots and a bad girl scene that perfectly
mirrors it’s inspiration but the weaknesses of my project are struggling to make all my shots look like they were
filmed at night and not enough space to put in creepy music to make the atmosphere more scary. My plan for
next week is to film the Hispanic character getting his throat slit as the first half of rule 1 and film the second
half were a jock gets stabbed in the throat while lifting barbells. I had certain plans for the places I would be
filming, but the ways the locations differed from my expectations influenced my ideas to make the scenes have
a different story line, and this difference in location also changed my ideas to adapt my story to the
environment.
