CCTV on all Southern rail stations

Southern Rail requested installation of CCTV systems
to provide 24-hour CCTV coverage on the last 24
remaining stations on their network, which had no
CCTV coverage. This franchise commitment was to
improve safety for passengers and evidence
gathering in case of incidents.

Century’s carried out installation works on CCTV
cameras, equipment cables (including concrete base),
pols, DVRs and CCTV signs. All Southern Rail stations
can be monitored 24 hours as each station’s live
footage is streamed to the client’s control centre.
The total project included installation of 170 cameras
ranging from three to 18 camera systems per station.
In addition the replacement and installation of digital
video recorders (DVRs) at a further 24 Southern
Railway stations was executed.
