Warner Bros. Pictures has optioned the mystery novel "Open Season" for a film adaptation. The novel was written by first-time author C.J. Box and tells the story of a Wyoming game warden investigating a series of murders. Arnold Rifkin and Bruce Willis' production company Cheyenne Enterprises will produce the project. Scott Goldman, who brought the book to Cheyenne, will also produce.

Tyro novelist Box penned story
Warner Bros. Pictures is optioning the mystery novel "Open Season," with
Arnold Rifkin and Bruce Willis' Cheyenne Enterprises attached to produce.
Penned by tyro novelist C.J. Box, "Open Season" is the story of a dedicated but
decidedly imperfect Wyoming game warden who finds the body of a well-known
poacher in his own backyard. That puts him on the road to finding more bodies --
while his life and career and life are in peril. Book was published in July by Putnam.
Scott Goldman, who is also producing the project, brought the book to Cheyenne
production exec David Wally.
Box is managed by Darby Parker and repped by Colden McKuin & Frankel, with
Andy Welchel repping the novel. Goldman is repped by attorney Erik Feig.
