Workshops in the FCL
done!
The Science Projects Workshops in the Future Classroom
Lab (SPW@FCL) bring together STEM teachers working on different EC
funded projects. The programme always includes general sessions
designed by the lead project, as well as presentations by the collaborating
projects. Parallel sessions with specific programmes for each project also
take place. The workshops encourage the integration of the projects’
content and best practices into the setting and facilities of the FCL.
The 1st SPW@FCL (14 - 16
September 2012) was
organized in the framework of
the first Scientix, in
collaboration with Global
excursion and inGenious. 50
people including teachers and
science education
practitioners (partners in EC
funded projects) participated
in the workshop.
The 2nd SPW@FCL (19 –
21 April, 2013) was
organized by inGenious
and with the
collaboration of
nanOpinion, eTwinning
and Scientix. This event
brought together 77
science teachers, career
counsellors, industry
representatives and
project partners.
The 3rd SPW@FCL (14 – 16 Feb,
2014) was organized by Global
excursion and with the
collaboration of Scientix, Go-Lab
and inGenious. 32 people
participated in the event. It
included: the Award Ceremony of
the ViSH 2013 Competition which
was followed live through video
streaming and which got more
than 300 connexions, the 3rd
Scientix Teachers Kick-off, as well as
Go-Lab and inGenious workshops
for Belgian teachers.

Workshops
The Science Projects Workshops in the Future Classroom Lab (SPW@FCL)

1st SPNE, 28 – 29 November 2013 in collaboration with Proconet and Primas.
During the event, 19 people from 14 different projects discussed difficulties in
organizing events together and possible common interests for future networking
events.
Topic: Communication and Dissemination activities

Proconet, Pathway, Primas, Go-Lab, Global excursion, e-Skills, inGenious,
nanOpinion, DESIRE
2nd SPNE, 5 September 2014 in collaboration with nanOpinion. 30+ participants
from 24 projects.
Topic: Teacher training in European projects and policy recommendations
• Projects here today: Scientix, NanoDiode, TEMI, nanOpinion, Chemistry is all
around us - network (CIAAN), COMBLAB, SAILS, PROFILES, Living
Schools Lab, ICT for Innovative Science Teachers, Science in School,
Engineer, MIGAL, Xplore Health, EU-UNAWE/SPACE-AWE, Changing with
the Climate, CENSIS, Ark of Inquiry, Inspiring Science Education, Virtual
Nano Environments for Learning, To3 nano outreach, NanoEIS, Go-Lab and
Odysseus.
