2. AMBUJA CSR
• Ambuja Cement Foundation (ACF) – the corporate social responsibility arm of
Ambuja Cement – has been pivotal in advancing the company’s objective to be a
socially responsible corporate citizen since its establishment in 1993
• Ambuja Cement Foundation (ACF) aims to ‘Energise, Involve and Enable
Communities to Realise their Potential’ through its initiatives. The foundation
undertakes projects and schemes to promote the social and economic
development of communities in and around the manufacturing locations of
Ambuja Cement.
• These development initiatives address the needs of the people by working with
the beneficiaries, NGOs and the government. ACF is functional across 12 states
covering 22 locations in India and has succeeded in bringing about change in the
lives of 1.5 million people.
• ACF’s focus areas include water resource management, agro-based livelihood,
health care, education, women's empowerment, infrastructure, disaster relief,
energy conservation and wildlife protection.

4. WATER MANAGEMENT
• There is a growing stress on India's
limited supply for water, and in some
areas, demand has outstripped supply.
Ironically, those who are dependent on
agriculture and living in poverty will
suffer the most from India's water
scarcity problem.

7. AGRICULTURAL PROGRAMMES
• Almost 60 percent of those who live
below the Empowerment Line in India
derive most of their livelihood from
agriculture. The problem is the fact that
farm productivity is very low — for
example, India’s yield rates for rice and
wheat is drastically lower than even
BRIC's country counterparts.

• More than 12 million youth between 15
and 29 years of age are expected to
enter India’s labor force every year for
the next two decades. The
government’s recent skill gap analysis
concludes that by 2022, and about 109
million more skilled workers will be
required in 24 keys sectors of the
economy.

• It is well understood that the
distribution of personal income in
society is strongly related to the
amount of education people have
had in life. Generally speaking - more
schooling means higher lifetime
incomes.

• Women are our key agents for rural
develoment. They play a critcial role in
transforming the economic,
environmental and social landscape of
communities.
• But limited access to credit, income
generating actvities and savings

disempowered and confined to
household duties.

Ambuja Cement Foundation does a lot of CSR for its stakeholder like:
• Provides nearby villages with fresh water.
• Provides schooling to nearby village kids.
• Organizes skill development campaigns for unemployed youth and
hires them later.
• Empowers women by hiring them.
• Provides day care for the kids of all the women working in the
factories.
• Helps farmers in nearby villages by providing better techniques of
agriculture.

24. BAD CSR ACTIVITIES & SUGGESTIONS
BAD CSR ACTIVITY SUGGESTION
Ambuja Cement produces a lot waste that gets
contaminated in the water.
Can install a small water treatment plant in all
factories and treat water before discharging.
Ambuja Cement produces smoke that contaminates
air.
Can install filters in the smoke outlet so the smoke is
filtered before letting out.
Should plant more and more trees around to keep the
air fresh.
Raises the temperature around the factory due to
heat produces.
Again, should plant more trees that cools down the
temperature in the environment and will also ensure
rain.
Induces dust in the surrounding. Should ensure that nobody lives very close to the
factory and provide employees with masks.
More plants would lead to rain that would settle the
dust.
