2. Question three
What kind of media institution might distribute your
media product and why?
You have made a low budget, independent British
film, not a Hollywood film. There are notes on the
intranet on Vertigo Films, DNA Films, Film 4 and a
case study on ‘Bullet Boy’ to give you some idea
about film distribution in the UK and how this might
relate to your film.
There are also word documents on UK film
distribution – explain what a distributor does, and
why you have chosen your specific company and
how you have shown this in your film with an ident
or credit.

3. Question three
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
The media institution we would choose is Vertigo Films, considering we were working on a
low budget and it is an independent film company, Vertigo is a company which is a
production team and also film distribution this company is based in London so it is very
local and close to home.
Explain what a distributor does, and why you have chosen your specific company
and how you have shown this in your film with an ident or credit
A distributer role is to market the film, this may be done by a company or an individual
there self. The reason why we as a group decided to choose Vertigo films was
because it is UK based and it is still fairly new as is only started and began to
distribute films in 2002, and they are still increasing as a company. We shown that
we are using Vertigo Films in our opening sequence by having their logo at the
beginning of our opening sequence, so our audience was able to recognise who
would be distributing our film Beautiful Psycho. We are giving vertigo films credit for
the production by using their logo at the beginning of our title sequence.
