2. » The Implementation
˃ 6 months was the right about of time for implementation
˃ The whole school year for the pilot was long but it was worth it
because it gave us enough time to address some issues and use the
technology to the fullest
˃ Each team member brought expertise to the project that was needed
for the success of this project.
˃ The teachers were excited to be a part of the project from the
beginning, when we really planned to bring them in later in the
implementation
3. » The Project
˃ the size of the pilot was bigger than expected, it took more man hours
that planned, looking back the team should of selected one or two
classes instead of the whole grade
˃ The project schedule and requirements documents that were created
in the beginning of the project were very helpful to keep everyone
involved informed.
˃ We used the new system’s site to communicate to everyone which
saved some time and money on the project. We had planned to
create a separate site but realized that the tool that was selected had
a built in feature.
4. » The Stakeholders
˃ Originally we decided to each report to back to the board, teachers
and other when needed in our each part of the project, but quickly
found that it was not efficient and at times confusing, so the team
decided to report back to one team member that was designated the
head of all communication to all stakeholders.
+ Teachers
+ Board Members
+ Administration
+ Parents/Students
5. » The Budget
» Early on during the implementation stage the team realized that it
was short on funds even with the $50,000 from the PTA and Board of
Education. To help offset the shortage, the team agreed to reduce
some cost by allowing any device on the system, moving to a cloud
based solution for the pilot and hosting a paperless classroom show
case. With the help of everyone involved in the project and local
vendors that wanted to use their time to showcase their business the
team was able to market the paperless classroom pilot and raise some
money for the pilot.

Plans to Expand to More Grades
Raise More Funds
Enlist a Bigger Team for Support
Future Plans for the Schools
7. » The team recommends to the board that the paperless classroom
is extended for another year to more grades. The team found
success in the improvement of technology skills and overall
understanding of the materials in the classes that participated in
the pilot. We understand that would mean more funds would have
to be allocated or raised, that is why we also recommend that the
board gives the project team to use their time to search and apply
for grants to expand the technology to more grades and improve
the current system more.
» The teachers involved this years pilot feel they have the tools to
teach in a paperless classroom next year. With the board’s
approval they plan to work as a team to better improving the
curriculum even more for next year. Now that the students and
teachers of this pilot are getting use to the technology in the
classroom we hope that with more funds, the board will allow the
support team to grow in numbers to they can adequately support
the current users and future users of the new technology.
8. » The project team thanks the PTA, the board and
everyone involved throughout this past several
months for the opportunity to introduce classes to
new learning technology that will benefit each
students’ learning experience for the future.
» After review all the reports and information of the
project, the team hopes that the board and school
leaders will keep this project in mind to someday
fund the whole district with more technology in the
classroom and give the students a head start on
future technologies.
