 Virtual meeting technologies cover a wide range of
tools that let team members in different locations to
interact at the same time without risk and cost of
travel.
 For Example
 IM (Instant Messaging) chat sessions
 Telephone conference calls
 Video conferencing etc

 Combines audio communication with live video
 Team members can see each others
 Demonstrate their products
 Transmit their visual information
 Two systems of video conferencing

 This system requires
 Specialized conferencing room facilities.
 Large video screen displays.
 Involves more participants.
 This type of system is used for big business deals.

 This system is used for small scale meetings like
individual meetings

 Webcam attached to participant PC’s
 Computer monitor for video display
 Audio devices
 Internet or standard phone connection

7. Web-Based Meeting
 It is the most sophisticated meeting system combines
the best of IM, shared workspaces and video
conferencing with other tools like virtual white
boards.
 It is really time saving.
 The attendees can log on from laptops , PC’s even cell
phones sitting any where in the world.

8. Advantages
 Its main advantage is that far flung teams can work
together on documents, designs and other materials
though they were in same room.
 It reduces cost of travel and preparation to organize
the meeting.
 It reduces schedule disruptions i.e. any person from
anywhere can attend the meeting without disruptions
in his/her own schedule.

design layout of new offices. Then you can share your
ideas verbally and can make changes in the layout also.

 Latest twist in online meetings are Darknets, small,
invitation-only networks are more secure then other
networks.
 Darknets are used to exchange highly confidential
information.
