1. Assignment 2 : Natural Light
Consider the natural lighting condition of your visual environment classroom (Room 704,
Building D). what changes would you make to the layout of the classroom, the opening
size and level, shading system, surface reflectance etc. to optimally daylight the space?
What would have been the optimal orientation of the classroom ? Use illustrations as
necessary.

2. Consider the natural lighting condition of your visual environment classroom (Room 704, Building D).
• Natural light entrance point should be open and spacious
that could block the flow of natural light.
• our setting space should be arranged to allow natural light to
penetrate as deeply into the space as possible.
• In our class room has low natural light levels, these areas
could be reserved for activities that don't require as much
light.

3. Opening size and level:
The size and level of openings in our visual classroom greatly
impact the amount and quality of natural light that enters in our
class so I don’t want to change our opening level and size.
We know that too much direct daylight can cause glare and heat gain for
that reason making the space uncomfortable .in our classroom shading
system modulate the amount and direction of light entering the space,
reduce glare, and improve thermal comfort.

Our classroom setting orientation east-west facade so the classroom should be
oriented to face north or south, to minimize direct sunlight during the day and shading
systems can be used to minimize glare and heat gain from direct sunlight.
