10. THE ECONOMICAL ASPECTS A :> Dr. A.P.J.ABDUL KALAM pointed out that INDIA is a store house of URANIUM & THORIUM, which are very crucial to solve our energy crisis for a longer period. Mr TELLIS a scientist of the investigation department of defence, US, declared that INDIA has a huge store of THORIUM, spread across the sands of RAMSETHU. But while govt. is making a lot of nuclear & atomic fuels negotiations with US, making a blunder by neglecting its own powerhouse by making plans to dredge it.

13. ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECTS A > Because of the oil spills from the ship & other marine pollution, the sea & its inhabitants as well as the coastal ecosystem will be severely affected. B > It will affect the local sea temperature & thereby alter the pattern of sea breezes & hence affect the rain fall patterns. C > The gulf of manars is especially famous for its 156 species of corals & 283 kinds of fish, more than 3600 species of plants & animals & various gemstones as well as pearls. They will not only be badly affected but may also forced to vanish from the ecosystem.
14. D > During the last Tsunami in Dec 2004, the RAM SETHU in Palk-strait acted as a natural barrier preventing the direct devastation of the entire south Indian coastline. The RAM SETHU played the vital role in protecting the coast line of south India from unforeseen ravages of the Tsunami in Dec 2004. THE TSUNAMI TERROR According to Dr. Tad S Murthy, Chief Editor, “science of Tsunami hazards”, creating the SSCP will only lead to unprecedented disasters during next Tsunami, which can happen at any time & the resultant devastation will be incalculable.

16. POLITICAL & LEGAL ASPECTS In 2001 while the B.J.P Govt. was there, they started working on it by building squads of surveyors for implementation of SSCP, But in the next step in 2005 when the congress Govt. started implementing the much awaited SSCP, the B.J.P & other pressure groups such as VHP,RSS,VAJRANG DAL etc. protested them. B.J.P never had a strong position in the south India, so they thought this is time to hit the iron as its hot, by making it a prime issue by highlighting its religious impacts on the poor sentiments of the people of south India. Again when being severely pressurized by the opposition & other pressure groups & religious institutions the congress postponed this issue for 3 months, but by this period the local ruling party the D.M.K chief KARUNANIDHI in favors of this project called for a vandh on 17th Sept. 2007, against the order of the SUPREME COURT, which in other hand challenged the authority of the SC. So the SC criticized the TN Govt. & warned of the Presidential Rule.
17. If things will happen in that fashion, then the supremacy of the SC will be abolished, and since Justice forms the main pillar of Democracy, it will be in danger too. So where the parts of a constitutional Govt. are violating and fighting with each other, then expecting Rationality & Loyalty from its citizens will be foolish as well as a day-dream.
18. India may be a role model, an example for others for its successive application of Democracy for a prolonged period, But the present days scenarios telling a different story & raising eyebrows worldwide. Govt. should think again & again before drawing any conclusion . CONCLUSION
19. QUESTIONS 1:- If the so called parties debating a lot on our national integration & interest, then how much actually they are caring for that ? 2:- Is the SETU SAMUDRAM CANAL PROJECT more important than a nations cultural, historical, religious, economical as well as environmental interests of the common people ? IF YOU ARE A RATIONAL CITIZEN WITH A THINKING BRAIN, HAVE YOU YET THOUGHT OF WHAT TO DO ?
