What did we create and why is this important?

•   Problem Statement

     – Not every student can demonstrate mastery of standards in the same way.

     – 30% of students require an alternative method of demonstrating mastery to a
       standard. This applies to approximately 93,000 students in Clark County.

     – Teachers lack the time and resources to create multiple reliable and valid
       assessments to measure individual student mastery.



•   Solution

     – Provide alternative personalized opportunities for students to demonstrate
       mastery beyond standardized assessments.

How did we validate the problem?

Research:
•   Validated with our team of 8 educators and central office administrators from the
    Clark County School District in Las Vegas, NV
•   Consulted with the SLC business and technical team
•   District RTI model and data for percentage of students in each tier of the model.



Key Findings:
• 18,000 teachers would benefit
• This would save 90,000 contract hours per week of planning time
• Benefit all 311,000 students
• Highest impact will be on the 93,000 students that need intervention and alternative
   options.

What did we create and why is this important? • Problem Statement – Not every student can demonstrate mastery of standards in the same way. – 30% of students require an alternative method of demonstrating mastery to a standard. This applies to approximately 93,000 students in Clark County. – Teachers lack the time and resources to create multiple reliable and valid assessments to measure individual student mastery. • Solution – Provide alternative personalized opportunities for students to demonstrate mastery beyond standardized assessments. Research: • Validated with our team of 8 educators and central office administrators from the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, NV • Consulted with the SLC business and technical team • District RTI model and data for percentage of students in each tier of the model. Key Findings: • 18,000 teachers would benefit • This would save 90,000 contract hours per week of planning time • Benefit all 311,000 students • Highest impact will be on the 93,000 students that need intervention and alternative options.
