2. Motivation
• With the increasing dependency of
organizations on digital assets, e-businesses
and e-commerce in the cyber-space, a number
of inherent vulnerabilities and possible attack
vectors for both insiders as well as outsiders
that need to be addressed by organizations.
• Cyber Security is a Business differentiator.
3. Overview
• The objective of this course is to lay the
knowledge foundations about structural
components of cyberspace, its basic
architecture, functionalities of major IT
infrastructure components and the rudiments
of cyber-security.
• The course would also cover the various types
of cyber-security threats and attacks, their
identification and management of risks in
organizations.
4. Coverage
• Students will be exposed to the basic structure of
cyberspace and to a Risk-based approach to
cybersecurity.
• Students are introduced to basic cyber risk
Analysis methodology and management used to
develop Systems architecture and strategies
aimed at mitigating such risks.
• More focus on Managerial aspects, with exposure
to Technology, as well.
