2. Introduction
 Luxury home construction expert Ryan Vucina has
led Vucina Construction through a number of notable
projects. This has not gone unnoticed, with the
Santa Lucia Preserve Design Review Board
bestowing on Ryan Vucina the “Best Construction
Site” Award in 2014.
The design review board is part of the Santa Lucia
Preserve association. It collaborates with home
owners in the design and construction of their dream
home with the aim of keeping the structure
subordinate to the land, thereby maintaining the
charm and natural beauty of the Preserve.

3. Santa Lucia Preserve
 The members of the Santa Lucia Preserve are dedicated
to protecting the California Rancho, situated in the Santa
Lucia Mountains east of Carmel, California. Involving
20,000 acres, 18,000 acres have been set aside for
perpetual protection by the Santa Lucia Conservancy.
The remaining 2,000 acres have been opened to
development but are limited to only 300 home locations.
While lots are sold and homes are constructed, it is
recognized that the location’s distinct natural character
must be given the highest consideration.
The Preserve is a self governing private community that
has managed to allow development while preserving the
original natural beauty of the land.
