 Teaching Approach: based on Communicative Approach and PPP method.
 Materials and Resources: computer – Power Point presentation – a photo of my
family- two worksheets-
 Pedagogical use of ICT in class: Students will watch a presentation with the
information of “Lisa’s family tree” from my computer.
 Seating arrangements: Students sit in pairs.
 Cooperative work: Children will interact with the teacher and their classmates
by doing the activities.
 Possible problems/difficulties and possible solutions in the class: Children are
used to listen to their teacher speaks Spanish and they only listen to English for
instructions. I will speak English during the whole class so if they do not
understand, I will use body gestures, miming, and modeling to aid
comprehension.
 Assessment: what will be assessed and how. I will check if children comprehend
and identify all family members by encouraging them to participate and answer
questions such as Is He/ She? Yes, she is. No, she isn’t / Yes, he is. No, he isn’t
ROUTINE: 10’
I will enter the classroomand I will greet children by saying “Hello children!” “How are
today?” “Are you fine?” Children will probably say “I’m fine, thank you”.
Transition: “Ok.”. “Now, let’s see…”
WARM UP: 10’
I will show children a photo of my family. “Look at this photo” “This is my family” “We
are a small family.”
I will say “He is Oscar.” “He is my father.” “He is 54 years old.” (Pointing to my father)
“She is Silvia.” “She is my mother.” (Pointing to my mother)
“And this is me.” “I am Roxana.” “I am 30 years old.”
I haven’t got a brother or a sister. (Doing with my finger the sign “no”)
“What about you?” “Have you got a photo of your family?” (pointing to children). They
will probably say YES or NO.
Transition: “Ok, Well done children.” “Now, you will see another photo.”
PRESENTATION: 10’
I will show children some photos from my computer. “Look at these photos.” “You can
see the Simpsons family and their relatives.”
Transition: “Now, Lisa will show you her family tree.”
Children will watch a power point presentation from my computer. “Pay attention
children.”

I will encourage children to repeat each family member.

I will give children a worksheet and they will have to the following activity. “Now, you
will have complete Lisa’s family tree.” “Look at the picture and write the correct family
member.

Once they have finished, I will say that we are going to check the family tree. We will

I will distribute worksheets to children and I will explain the activity. “Now, look at the
picture and circle the best option.”

children to use the target language communicatively.

weather like today?” It’s sunny. Children will copy the date and the weather on the
board. I will say that they have to past their worksheet in their folders.
