service to strengthen your club. We’ll discuss best practices
for recognizing ethical businesses, along with the skills,
talents, and resources that members bring to Rotary.

• Participants will learn about a new focus and a renewed
definition of Vocational Service.
• Participants will learn the connections between
Vocational Service/Appreciation and member
engagement and retention.
• Participants will hear, share and take away ideas for
enhancing vocation appreciation in their clubs.
5. The Concept of Vocational Service
The concept of vocational Service is rooted in the second
object of Rotary which calls on Rotarians to “encourage and
foster:”
• High ethical standards in business and professions
• The recognition of the worthiness of all useful
occupations
• The dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an
opportunity to serve society
