6. World Rotaract
Week 2013
Every year, Rotaractors and Rotarians around
the world celebrate World Rotaract Week
during the week of 13 March to commemorate
the founding of the first club in 1968.
8. Rotaract Club of Adentan
District 9100, Ghana
Otinibi Library Project
Club members adopted a school in the community
and raised US$8,000 toward the cost of a new
school library. The library was designed by an
architect at no cost to the school and the site was
surveyed by a Rotarian from the sponsoring club.
10. Rotaract Club of Paraiso
District 3780, Philippines
Beginning and Basic
Literacy Integrated Support Services
Club members provided basic literacy and reading
intervention programs to children in urban poor
neighborhoods who have difficulty reading. A
number of Rotarians from the district have visited
schools as guest storytellers.

Tullamarine
District 9800, Australia
Helping under-privileged people in
Cambodia
Rotaract Club of Tullamarine helped raise $8000
which was used to construct rain water tanks and
the members themselves went over recently to
Cambodia to assist in their construction.

District 1570, Netherlands
Monopoly Amersfoort
In 2011, the Rotaract Club of Amersfoort,
Netherlands created a local-edition of Monopoly
and raised € 30,000 for the Dutch Leukaemia
Foundation!
Street names and business were sold to locals
1,100 games were sold!

Brussel Coudenberg
District 2170, Belgium
Rotaract Hearts to South Africa
They visited different local schools and decided to
help out the deaf and mute children’s school/orphan
house to upgrade their sleeping facilities
Joined forces with Warriors Rotaract Club and Rotary
Letaba to work on this together
Recent project: Yingisani, School for deaf-mute
children located in Limpopo, a region that is the most
poorest and has high HIV prevalence
168 deaf-mute kids, 80% orphans; age 3-14
Poor facilities needed upgrade, upgrading bedrooms

18. Rotaract Club of
University of Lethbridge
District 5360, Canada
Siaqtuut – A Journey Together
Club members held an event that raised US$14,000
for a family resource center that serves aboriginal
communities in Canada, and also secured a
donation of two airline tickets to allow community
members in the far northern part of the country to
access the resources of southern Canada.
Numerous Rotarians attended the fund raising
event and invited Rotaractors to speak about the
project at Rotary club meetings.
20. Rotaract Club of Ambato
Cosmopolita
District 9800, Ecuador
Rotaract 10K: Corramos para
Erradicar la Polio (Let’s Run to
Eradicate Polio)
Club members coordinated a 10K race that
included 1,400 runners, increased awareness of
Rotary and Rotaract in the community, and raised
US$4,000 for PolioPlus.

for Polio” Initiative
Through matched funding, CIDA and the Bill &
Melinda Gates foundation will provide funds to
the Global Polio Eradication Initiative at a ratio
of $2 for every $1 raised by Rotarians in Canada,
up to a maximum of $1 million.
