Why, What, How
So often we start with the How?
Why do you come to work?
Why do you work in Technology?
What’s missing from here?
Who is this?
What is he famous for?
User experience is not the responsibility of just designers.
If a buyer has a good experience finding and buying our software, that’s good experience. If the download process is simple and easy, that’s good UX. If its easy to deploy and get started, its good UX.
If its easy to do something with the software and get quick ROI, that’s good UX. If its easy to resolve a problem when a user is stuck that’s good UX
User experience is not just about screens & icons but about making the entire interaction with software simple
If our solution is architected in a way that makes it easy to build and extend apps as Fiori, that’s part of UX — that is the role of an architect
If our solution prioritizes the core features in a MVP make our software easy to learn, that’s the role of a PM
If you codify features in a way that makes software easy to use, that’s the role of a developer
So UX doesn’t start or end with a designer. It starts with each and everyone of you, with each and everyone of us.
Design is finally making its way into the enterprise and companies are using it as a competitive differentiator against SAP
Unfortunately we need to fight the perceptions, but the reality is much better thanks to many of you in the room
Bill shared his vision for SAP, what about our vision as SAP Design?
Did I say this?
I Guess I did… its a good goal for us all!
Need to define key years and how we would title each circle what key events happen within each of those years. We can enlarge the circles on the more recent years where theres more key information

Lots of experience
Hasso – showcase of HANA
Bring experts into room
Weeks of Prep, binders of pre-reads, death by powerpoint
Ask a question, “good question, let me get back to you”
More prep and answer prepared a week later
Hasso can’t remember why he asked the question anymore
User research with CEOs
Technology changes behavior
Data driven vs the “theater of the presentation”
Anand Mahindra, not just for him, but empower the 200,000 employees of Mahindra group to better understand the business

Change at a National Level
Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in women living in less developed regions but in Kenya it is the most common cause of death from cancer as the risk of cervical cancer is 6-20 times higher for HIV-infected women. The goal was to accelerate and simplify the cervical cancer screening process.
The research indicated necessary changes in the transaction design to enable the recruiter and nurses in the field in remote locations. With the new tablet design, women, infected with HPV virus, can now be identified easily and examined for cancer risk. The results are monitored real-time by Heidelberg University Hospital in Germany, and test results sent back to Kenya. It accelerated the entire process significantly
What is so interesting about this example? Again, we didn’t need new technology. We were able to create such a broad impact on women’s health by mindfully designing how the health practitioners accessed our existing technology
