During her more than 20 years with Davis Street (DS), the organization's CEO, Rose Padilla Johnson, grew the agency into the multi-million dollar agency that it is today. After successfully raising funds to acquire Stepping Stones in 2017, Rose Padilla Johnson set goals to achieve over the subsequent years. 2. Introduction
 During her more than 20 years with Davis Street (DS), the organization's CEO,
Rose Padilla Johnson, grew the agency into the multi-million dollar agency that it
is today. After successfully raising funds to acquire Stepping Stones in 2017, Rose
Padilla Johnson set goals to achieve over the subsequent years. In the 2017-18 DS
Annual Report two of those goals are mentioned.
First, DS stated it will launch a fundraising drive to acquire the remaining space at
the Teagarden Street property so that Stepping Stones can relocate there and
save on rent. Along with Stepping Stones, DS also plans to enlarge the clinic area
at Teagarden Street so that more patients can be accommodated, as optometry
and pharmacy services will be incorporated with the medical and dental health
services already offered.
Second, DS recognizes the need to level the education playing field at San
Leandro, in that children from low-income families should get equal access to
education. With that said, DS states that the organization will offer
comprehensive educational services to both pre-kindergarten and grade school
children from low-income families.
