2. What to Do in Case of a Fire in buildings
1. Immediately pull the nearest fire alarm pull station as you
exit the building.
2. When evacuating the building, be sure to feel doors for
heat before opening them to be sure there is no fire
danger on the other side.
3. If there is smoke in the air, stay low to the ground,
especially your head, to reduce inhalation exposure. Keep
on hand on the wall to prevent disorientation and crawl
to the nearest exit.
4. Once away and clear from danger, call your report
contact and inform fire department about the fire.
3. FIRE EXTINGUISHER
1. First, remove the pin from the fire extinguisher
— it won't work if you don't.
2. Point the extinguisher toward the base of the
fire, not the top of the flames.
3. Holding it by the handle, press down on the lever
on the fire extinguisher; just let go when you want
to stop.
4. Spray horizontally back and forth across the fire
until it's extinguished, remembering to aim low.
4. Fire safety at HOME
Install smoke alarms on every level of your home, inside
bedrooms and outside sleeping areas.
Test smoke alarms every month. If they’re not working, change
the batteries.
Talk with all family members about a fire escape plan and
practice the plan twice a year.
If a fire occurs in your home, GET OUT, STAY OUT and
CALL FOR HELP. Never go back inside for anything or anyone.
5. Fire safety
1. CHECK SMOKE DETECTORS once a month and the batteries, twice a
year.
2. STAY AT GROUND, Start crawling to reduce smoke Inhalation.
3. Have and ESCAPE PLAN. Know all the exists, the best way to exit from each
and where you should all meet.
4. Never go back into a burning building. ALERT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT-
101-and wait for them to arrive.
6. DO’S
1. Reduce the amount of combustible material around the jobsite
until you are ready to use them.
2. Use less flammable materials and more flame retardant
material for covering and sheeting.
3. Heater should be placed in well ventilated area away from
flammable material.
4. Replace the faulty wiring immediately.
5. If you are a smoker be away from flammable materials.
6. Dispose of oily rags in metal containers with self closing rid.
7. You should know how to use FIRE EXTINGUISHER.
7. DON’T
1. Never stand up in a fire, always crawl low under the
smoke and try to keep your mouth covered. Never return
to a burning building for any reason; it may cost you your
life.
2. Never go back into a burning building for any reason.
Teach children not to hide from firefighters.
3. Never overload electrical circuits by using multi-plug.
4. Never cook in loose-fitting clothing that could catch fire
over the stove.
5. In case of fire, do not use LIFTS for escape. They may fail
midway trapping people inside. Use only staircases.
