3. LDM Artifact (Required): Individual Learning Monitoring Plans
Professional Standard/Strand: 3.1 Learner’s gender, needs, strengths, interests and experiences
ANNOTATION
The Individual Learning Monitoring Plans above reflect the struggles of learners in one of the most encountered challenges in the modular learning, which is the difficulty in
understanding written instructions and discussions. Both ILMPs used interventions for learners who find it difficult to understand the lessons and to acquire the needed
competencies in specific learning. Thus, strategies like further explanation/discussion and providing more examples to supplement learning have been used. These interventions
made both learners cope with their difficulties. Further, the progress of each learner was closely monitored and recorded in the ILMP.
4. LDM Artifact (Required): Lesson Plans (Weekly Home Learning Plan)
Professional Standard/Strand: 3.4 Learners in difficult circumstances, 4.1 Planning and management of teaching and learning process
4.2 Learning outcomes aligned with learning competencies, 5.1 Design, selection, organization and utilization of
assessment strategies
ANNOTATION
Lesson plans are considered to be the bible of teachers. They serve as a guide in implementing a successful teaching-learning process. Techniques and strategies are included
in the lesson plans to make the facilitating of learning more engaging in the part of the learners. The lesson plans that I crafted for the Demo-teaching in our LAC Sessions contained
engaging activities that could enhanced the knowledge and skills of the learners. Furthermore, all objectives in both lesson plans used the MOST ESSENTIAL LEARNING
COMPETENCIES(MELCS) in English 10. Thus, ICT integration and topics that addressed challenges of the present pandemic were included in the lessons and activities. In addition,
the integration of 4As (Agtagibalay, Agmula, Agtaraken and Agliwliwa) were both implicitly and explicitly given focus in the lessons.
5. ANNOTATION
I was able to craft SLMs which catered to the distance learning needs of the learners. To better understand literary pieces, the use of
graphic organizers aided the learning of the students in literature. Links for videos were also included in the materials to supplement their
learning and understanding of the lessons and for them to relate with the pressing issues and concerns brought by the pandemic. The 4As
(Agtagibalay, Agmula, Agtaraken, Agliwliwa) were also reflected in the lessons of the SLMs.
LDM Artifact (Required): Teacher-made/modified learning resources
Professional Standard/Strand: 4.5 Teaching and learning resources including ICT
6. LDM Artifact (Required): Certificates of participation in any professional development (PD) activities
Professional Standard/Strand: 7.3 Professional links with colleagues, 7.5 Professional development goals
ANNOTATION
To enhance my knowledge in teaching and to adapt to the new normal of teaching and learning, I have attended several trainings and webinars both in international and
regional level. The webinar on THE INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE FORUM ON LANGUAGE TEACHING EDUCATION helped in in crafting English SLMs and LAS with the integration of
localization and contextualization. While the trainings in Video Editing Techniques and Technology Education and Instructional Materials Development/Preparation in English
Language made me overcome the challenges of Teaching the English subject using ICT. I was able to edit and develop video lessons because of the two webinars during the In-
Service Virtual Training.
7. LDM Artifact (Required):Reflective Summary
Professional Standard/Strand: 7.4 Professional reflection and learning to improve practice
ANNOTATION
The reflective essay above expresses a part of me as a teacher during the pandemic. My sentiments which turned into acceptance of the challenges brought by
distance learning. It also expressed my in-depth personal experience during the implementation of the LDM. It is a n expression on how the LDM course capacitated
an educator like me to innovate in teaching and level up my approaches in educating our learners. It also served as a platform to improve my performance in
teaching and for me to be abreast with the technological advances in education.
“The duties of a TEACHER are neither few nor small, but they elevate the mind and give energy to the character.”
-Dorothea Dixx
There is a big difference between the previous face-to-face learning and the current distance learning. Most of the educators and learners
were not ready to face the abrupt shifting of the learning process.
Then comes the LDM course which served as an arrow to direct the educators and school heads/administrators in improving their practices in
learning delivery modalities in the midst of the pandemic. As an educator, I was able to overcome challenges and address them with DepEd’s urgent
action through implementing the LDM.
Such made me better in adapting to the new normal in education. The new delivery of teaching to the students and communication with the
parents made me a more flexible teacher. Such made me realized that I should always be ready to face dynamics in teaching especially when it involves
the education of my students. Looking at the artifacts that I have collected and kept, I realized that despite the challenges of the present pandemic,
learners and educators were able to rise for the continuity of education.
As an English teacher, the struggle to teach topics in the subject has been a perennial problem in my part. The four skills in learning in English
language: Listening, Speaking, Writing and Reading were hustling my mind before the implementation of the distance learning. I asked myself on how
to keep up with such obstacle. Fortunately, DepEd has initiated an urgent action as response to the problems in teaching for the distance learning.
The LDM made me act immediately to be a better educator, who is always ready for her learners’ needs. Such course made me do my part to
still deliver quality instruction to my learners despite the hindrances brought by the COVID19 pandemic. It pushed me to improved my teaching using
technology; I was able to craft lessons and other supplementary materials for learning because it motivated me to surpass my expectation of myself as
a teacher.
8. LDM Artifact (Self-Selected): MOVs on engaging learners for their progress and achievement
Professional Standard/Strand: 5.2 Monitoring and evaluation of learner progress and achievement, 5.3 Feedback to improve learning
ANNOTATION
I constantly monitored the development of my learners not only by checking if they have already submitted their outputs, but also through regular
communication with them in the 911Klasrum Group Chats. I immediately give feedbacks regarding their outputs in the English subjects and offered my assistance
on the lessons that needed further instructions and explanations. Aside from these, I was able to remind them of their academic responsibilities in order for them to
cope with the challenges of modular learning.
9. LDM Artifact (Self-Selected): MOVs on professional engagement with colleagues
Professional Standard/Strand: 7.3 Professional links with colleagues
ANNOTATION
I developed my professional engagements with my colleagues through LAC sessions, INSET and faculty meetings. Through these, we were able to share our best
practices as educators; address challenges in teaching-learning process through sharing our own strategies to our fellow educators. The language department of our school
was able to craft an Action Research proposal to address the difficulties of the students in reading comprehension. During our faculty meetings, we shared ideas and
concerns related to the distance learning of our students. Group chats also served as a way for information dissemination whenever teaching-related challenges arise in
the workplace.
10. LDM Artifact (Self-Selected): MOVs on engaging key stakeholders in the teaching learning process
Professional Standard/Strand: 5.4 Communication of learner needs, progress and achievement to key stakeholders
6.2 Engagement of parents and the wider school community in the educative process
ANNOTATION
The modular learning modality has been a challenge both in the part of the learners and educators. Group chats were the saviors for a fast communication to the parents: Reminders,
Announcements and Updates. The group chat s also served as an avenue in answering queries from parents and students. Aside from the group chats, I was also able to monitor those parents and
learners who are not always on-line through SMS or text messaging. It is also one of the fastest ways to reach out to parents and learners. One of the teacher’s responsibilities is disseminate
progress and struggles of learners through PTA meetings both online and face-to-face following social distancing and proper health protocols. I was also assigned to distribute in one of the venues
for module distribution and retrieval following proper health protocol in this time of pandemic.
