Project Experience
Public Works Projects
 Port of Oakland, Seventh Street Terminal: Electrical engineering for conversion of 4
2300 V container cranes to 4160 V and their relocations plus the addition of 4 new
cranes at 4160 V.
 City of Oakland, railroad yard realignment. Electrical engineer for moving existing
railroad tracks, buildings, power supplies, etc., following the demolition of the Cypress
Freeway after the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.
 Livermore Regional Airport: Electrical design for new aircraft fuel storage and
distribution facilities.
 Burbank Airport: New runway and taxiway lighting design.
 Salt Lake City, Utah: Member of electrical design team for a new replacement airport
including a parking structure of 900,000 square feet, rental car return and servicing
areas, terminal and boarding areas.

2.  Central Marin Sanitation Agency, San Rafael, CA. Electrical engineering for substantial
parts of the design of a new tertiary treatment plant including the site distribution,
digesters, clarifiers, diesel- and methane-fired generators.
 San Mateo County Water District, Coastside County Treatment Plant, Half Moon, Bay,
CA. Electrical engineering for improvements to the existing water treatment plant.
 Easterly Wastewater Treatment Plant, Vacaville, CA. Electrical engineering for major
expansion, modernization and improvements to the existing plant.
Commercial
 Electrical engineer and project manager for many projects at various Bank of America
facilities nationwide including new data centers, replacement UPS in existing data
centers, new generators, new switchgear and power distribution, new office spaces, new
and revised commercial bank outlets.
 Union Bank, 350 California and 400 California Street, San Francisco, CA. Electrical
engineer for new supply and return fan walls to replace existing fans. New boilers. New
chillers. New cooling towers.
 Wells Fargo, 550 California, 420 Montgomery St., 635 Sacramento St. and others.
Numerous infrastructure improvement projects, planning and supervising 5-year
maintenance shutdowns in 4 high rise buildings. UPS and generator replacements.
 Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, CA. Electrical design for the on-line
replacement of 13 motor control centers with new units. Led study of whether a gas-
fired fuel cell would be economically and electrically feasible.
Tenant Improvement (T.I’s)
 Electrical engineer and/or project manager for over one hundred tenant improvement
projects for clients including: Merrill Lynch, Bank of America, Union Bank, Morlin
Property Management, Jones Lang LaSalle Property Management. Cushman Wakefield,
CB Richard Ellis, US Corps of Engineers San Francisco office, and others.

 San Jose Unified School District: Modifications to 4 high schools, 2 middle schools and
4 elementary schools: New lighting, new HVAC, new or modified libraries and sports
facilities.
 Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA – Electrical engineer for renovation and modernization
of a number of classrooms and offices. Modifications to biochemical laboratories,
engineering labs, and others.
 University of California, Berkeley, CA. – Electrical engineer for new science department
hazardous waste disposal facility
 University of California, Davis, CA.- Electrical engineer for new campus chilled water
system.
Miscellaneous
 MasterCard, St. Joseph, MO. Chief Electrical Engineer for new data center campus with
three buildings including a central plant and data halls totaling 85,000 sq.-ft.
 Kaiser Permanente, Napa, CA. Lead Electrical Engineer for conversion of a moth-balled
data center to a modern 2N data center to handle the company’s medical records
computerization.
 Applied Materials, several sites, San Jose, CA. Electrical engineering for microchip
fabrication facilities remodels and expansions, including toxic gas control interfacing.

3.  Micron, Lehi, UT. New chip fab plant for Micron Corporation of Boise, ID. Shared
electrical engineering duties with a team of high-powered engineers from several
companies. I was on the site electrical design and standards committee. This was a
high-speed, $3 billion project.
 AMAT (Applied Materials & Toshiba) partnership, San Jose, CA. Overall Electrical
engineering leadership for a new facility producing flat panel displays. Included Class 1
through 10,000 clean rooms.
