2. You Can Make a Differences
In reading this story recently I noticed some
traits in Esther & Modecai that could explain
why they were used by God to make a
difference in the lives of others.

We are going to look at two Biblical characters and learn from them.
“For whatever things were written before were written
for our learning, that we through the patience and
comfort of the scriptures might have hope." Romans 15:4
In them, we will discover principles that are timeless in their application.
Although the Old Testament describes a time different from our own, with
respect to specific requirements, it is valuable for the purpose of learning
about man's relationship with God.

3. You Can Make a Differences
“ A belief that God's hand was on their lives
and guiding them. Modecai's question to the
Queen is the most famous quotation from the
entire book:
" Who knows but that you have come to royal
position for such a time as this?" Esther 4:14

" If you remain silence at this time," Modecai said,
“Relief and deliverance will arise from another
place". Esther 4:13
• Expectancy

Even if some might perish in the meantime, it never
occurred to Modecai that God wouldn't do something to
save his people and to stop the king's order.

5. You Can Make a Differences'
These people fast and pray for three days
before taking action. “ Go, gather together
all the Jews in Susa and fast for me.” Clearly
they wanted divine blessing as they launched
their plan. Esther 4:16 .
• Submission to God
The Living Spring
3rd throughout the dramas there is a: -
(Esther had great confidence in the power of prayer, particularly
in the fellowship of other believers in prayer. If we are facing
trying circumstances, it will be wise to solicit prayer support of
other Christians. We need to admit that we have a need and ask
our friends to stand with us in prayer.)

6. You Can Make a Diffrences
Queen Esther knew that her plan to approach
the king was dangerous, but she announced
her decision to Modecai: “I will go to the
king, Esther affirm, even though it is against
the law. And if I perish, I perish.” Esther 4:16
• Willingness to take a risk

4th Finally there was a: -
(God may want us to carry out some unpleasant task. It may
involve confronting someone whom we rather avoid or
admitting something we may try to hide, as it did with Esther.
But if we know it to be the will of God we must do it. And
God will honor it. He did it for Esther.)

7. You Can Make a Differences
Throughout the Bible, we see examples of God working
through individuals. Most often they seemed unlikely
and sometimes they were surprised. Few of us had
heard of Modecai and Esther when their adventure
began.
Even as God worked through Modecai and Esther he
can work through us today. And who knows, you may be
where you are in this church "for such a time as this."
