It was the beginning of summer 2013, May
to be precise and I had the phone call I was
dreading. The girls had booked a fortnight in

Well, I was in my early 40’s, recently separated
from a long term partner and so out of shape it
was embarrassing. Whilst I was with my now ex-
boyfriend, I watched what I ate, always tried to
choose the healthy option on the restaurant
menu, snacked on fruit, exercised at least once or
sometimes twice a week and generally looked
after myself and had my weight loss kept in
check. Well having a partner meant we could
