Legislative Correspondent for defense and foreign relations – Washington, D.C.
• Conduct background research on a weekly basis on previous and pending legislation, agency programs,
GAO and CBO reports, news articles, and staff briefings, advising on possible policy action relating to
prioritization of US Government program funding and program performance
• Managed the National Defense Authorization Act process for FY2017, tracking, analyzing, and writing
amendment vote recommendations for over 600 amendments.
• Heavily involved with and knowledgeable of the authorization and appropriations processes for State and
Foreign Operations and Defense authorizations, assessing the interplay of the authorizations and
appropriations in regard to objectives and effectiveness.
• Responsible for creating outgoing correspondence pertaining to veterans issues, defense, foreign relations,
