and Update PLCs, Drive Controllers, etc. Perform PM on equipment as
needed. Welded (MIG and Stick) and Operated other shop equipment IE
Lathe, Drill Press, Ban Saw, Milling Machine, press. Pressed bearings on

and off, Installed and wired equipment that we purchased, etc. Some of
the notable accomplishments are listed below:
• Installed and Re-Wired a bailer / shredder combo known as a
“Hogger Bailer”. Converted this machine from 208 to 460 when
installing to lower the amperage it used, and to prevent the need
for another large transformer on that end of the facility.
• When the PLC controller in the “Hogger Bailer” went out
(Machine was about 30 years old and had an old Allen-Brandley
SLI-150 “Programmable Controller” in it ), I rewired the machine
using 3 relays, and two timers – achieving the same functionality
(Operation as well as safety devices) that were previously in
place. An outside company quoted us $13,000 base price for this
repair, which costed Caraustar roughly $500 including my salary
• Rebuilt the control box for a scissor lift whose controls wore
completely out and could not be purchased any more. The lift
was fully OSHA compliant, and fully operational after this repair.
• Rebuilt a Slautterback glue machine that hadn’t worked in 2 years
The company was quoted $4,000 for this repair, which I was able
to make for just under $1000. I also simplified the utilization of
this machine for the operators and other maintenance personnel,
reducing the steps required to change over to or from this
machine to the larger hotmelt system.
• Will be glad to supply details on these and other items performed
ELECTRICIAN / AUTOMATION MAINTENANCE
KOCH FOODS – DALTON JCG HATCHERY
2013-2014
Performed maintenance and repairs on automation systems, including
but not limited to motor controls, hydraulic and pneumatic systems,
hatchers, incubators, and automated counters, shell separators, stackers,
and other items. Replaced bearings that were worn out, and performed
preventative maintenance to ensure they lasted as long as possible. Kept
logs of the Peracetic Acid injector systems, to ensure the treated wash
water was always at the proper level of this chemical (Too much is very
unhealthy for people, too little and it is to no avail), as well as allowing us
to schedule orders to prevent running out, or having over stock.
I was also solely in charge of calibrating the chick counter system, which
is a PLC driven / sensor based counter of live birds on a conveyer belt.
Considering that our facility shipped out about 2.5 million birds per
week… which included hatching them on a schedule to allow this to be
done without a feeding stage, allowing all of the birds to be vaccinated,
counted, crated and shipped to the growers without losing product (The
last calibration had us shipping with a 99.7% accuracy), this was no small
feat, and one I am very proud to have accomplished consistently.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER / IT TECHNICIAN
NANCE CARPET AND RUG, INC.
2011-2013
Maintained a database with images of every piece of material we had for
sale… I photographed the products, edited the images, created many
brochures, flyers, business cards, and product labels. Nance Carpet
currently has a product called Versatile ™ , which in essence is a self-
adhesive backed carpet tile, that can be purchased in various colors to
create any type of pattern the customer wants. I named this product,
designed its packaging, designed all of the product labels, and the pallet
display racks for our distributors. I designed many scale models of
products that would normally weight thousands of pounds, scaling them
down to be carried into a business meeting and easily passed around. I
have designed photographs to show what a given product would actually
look like in real life, all in virtual space on my computer… allowing our
salesman to have brochure images before some of the new products had
even been put into their packaging yet.
I also performed repair on office computers, telephone systems, and
intercom systems (These were all set up over a WAN, and connected all
of our plants to our primary facility.) I installed and configured the security
cameras at 3 of their facilities… the 4th facility having been done before I
started working with them. (I actually contracted out these jobs before
being hired to work full time on their payroll)
The owners of the company (Bob and Carol Nance) also used me to
install, and maintain electronics at their home. This included their video
surveillance systems, their electronic gate, an invisible dog fence, and
other items.
TECH SUPERVISOR
CYBERFIX COMPUTING.
2001-2011
Repaired Personal and Business Computers, Designed Business and
Personal Networks and Repaired Existing Networks, including but not
limited to intercom systems, telephone systems, VOIP systems and video
phone systems. Installed Security Cameras and Alarm Systems,
Designed and Implemented Remote monitoring systems for businesses
with multiple locations, Designed and Wrote Commercial Software some
of which is still active and in use at this time. I also trained, and
coordinated other technicians working under me at this company.

EDUCATION GEORGIA NORTHWESTERN TECH, WHITFIELD MURRAY CAMPUS
INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGY / ELECTRONICS TECH
3.33 GPA My studies focused on Electronics, Industrial Motor Controls,
PLCs, Industrial Mechanics, Pneumatics and Hydraulics, Single phase
and three phase power, AC and DC power, and the NEC.
I also worked for GNTC while attending, assisting the primary electronics
professor, helping students to grasp concepts, repairing and maintaining
the training equipment and instrumentation that we used.
COOSA VALLEY TECH - CALHOUN, ROME AND ROCKMART
2000-2001
Computer Information System / Programming 4.0 GPA – Networking Plus
Degree.
Studied Operating System Concepts, Networking Fundamentals,
advanced networking, Programming in Visual Basic, Advanced
Programming, Advanced Spreadsheet Techniques, Advanced Database
Techniques, Program Design and Development, Microsoft Office, A+
Certification, and Client Server Systems.
LEADERSHIP Have lead many teams from the workforce (Tech teams working on large
projects, such as a 32 camera Closed Circuit System with remote
monitoring at Chattanooga Airport Inn, and several other motels with
similar configurations), to assisting students in an Advanced Electrical
Motor Controls Class. Although gifted with leadership skills, I also work
well as part of a team. I can take charge when it is needful, but know how
to follow and support a leader when that’s what the situation calls for.
