I am a graphic designer based in Adelaide, South Australia, originally from the
UK, having lived here now with my wife for 11 years. Professionally, I have over
fifteen years experience providing diverse and conceptual design to a wide
variety of clients, both here in Australia and in the UK.
Most recently I have been working in a busy retail marketing team as the Print
& Product Marketing Coordinator. This role was extremely diverse in nature,
as I was responsible for creating conceptual graphic design for a range of
print and digital products, including branding, packaging, catalogues, website
and POS for major retail campaigns. I was also responsible for ensuring
that all projects were completed on budget, communicated to all internal &
external colleagues, and that all the print was distributed nationally to over
105 stores in a timely manner.
The role also involved me coordinating the in-store marketing equipment
required by the retail stores; ensuring that the stock was replenished and
available to order via an online tool, and distributed nationally. To ensure
these projects were delivered and executed correctly, a high level of

communication was required with my direct team, interstate teams, but
also external suppliers, such as printers, distribution company, and logistics.
This communication occured in the form of phone calls, emails, marketing
directives, such as “Promotional Running Sheets” and presentations.
Currently, I am working as a freelance designer providing striking, creative and
innovative design to a range of clients, whilst also promoting and supporting
their products and ideals. This work embraces print, digital and web mediums
for marketing, advertising, and industrial applications.
I pride myself on being well organised, motivated and the ability to work to
extremely tight deadlines, whilst maintaining meticulous attention to detail
and accuracy.
I appreciate the importance of striking, creative and innovate advertising
in promoting and supporting a business’s products and ideals. My work
alongside, not only major organisations, but more recently local business,
demonstrate my ability to work to strict corporate guidelines, and branding
strategies. I understand the importance of a full working knowledge of
company regulations and guidelines and the necessity of adhering to them
stringently. I am also acutely aware of the importance of client confidentiality.
I have an extensive knowledge of all the processes involved in design, print
and manufacture, whether it involves setting up artwork for large or small
scale projects. Thus, I am able to coordinate and execute a project from its
initial design concept, through to a final product with considerable insight and
awareness.
In my spare time, I love nothing more than spending time with my family
and friends. I am a very proud dad, and spend a lot of time supporting my
daughter in all her activities. I too enjoy the outdoors, whether it be, walking,
running or cycling, as this makes me feel good. I am an avid fan of Liverpool
Football Club. However, if you know anything about football, this is not
always an easy undertaking.

Skills and Responsibilities
• Create conceptual design for print based marketing materials and
advertising for all Smokemart & GiftBox stores nationwide.
• Managing the end to end catalogue production process, liaising with
printers, distribution company and internal colleagues.

A Melbourne based GP practice who wanted their logo to
represent and emphasise their “Heritage” location and building..

A UK based Investment company whose logo I designed in
collaboration with their requirements and brief, including their
brand and marketing guidelines.
APPLIED NUMERIC CONTROL
A locally based Adelaide company who manufacture tools and
components for manufacturing machinery. The client required a
logo not only for their marketing collateral, but also a logo that
can be incorporated into their membrane keypad assembly.
GOOD KIT
An Online store based in Adelaide who sell private and industry
branded 4WD, Action, Recovery, Lighting, Solar and Camping
products for outdoor enthusiasts.

This was a design done for an A0 poster that was required to highlight and promote the capabilities and specifications
of the HORIBA LabRam HR Microscope.

SHOP HOARDINGS
These shop/property hoardings were designed for both a shop refit and property lease.
They were designed to fit bespoke sizes, taking into account the panel configuration of the hoarding and also staying true to brand.

EXPO SIGNAGE / ADVERTISING
Advertising hoardings / banners I designed and set up for wide format print. I worked
in conjunction with project managers and organisers to complement event branding.

Adverts/signs I designed which were used to promote events and services. Created
in collaboration with organisers to complement event and branding guidelines.

MEMBRANE KEYPADS / OVERLAYS
These are products that I created/designed in conjunction with the customers requirements and branding. Not
only is artwork created, but all Industrial design jobs include fully dimensioned approval drawings, as accuracy is
paramount. Once approved by the client, production/manufacturing files are generated.
These products can vary from a simple 2 layer overlay (comprising a fascia material and rear adhesive - see top two
examples) to a 15 layer membrane keypad design. The keypad designs include at least one circuit layer, multiple
adhesive layers, a spacer layer, and/or tactile domes and embossing. Each product is unique in design and structure.

PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY
As part of my role working with ROC-SOLID, I took many product photographs of their rugged computers for marketing and branding purposes.
These products were photographed in multiple forms and views, including many close up images of individual components. These were then
retouched for use in advertising and marketing them across print and web mediums.
