Indian Cancer Society is a voluntary based organisation working in the field of cancer control since thirty years. We believe in "the conquest of cancer by choice; not chance". Please run for Indian Cancer Society in the Delhi Airtel Half marathon 2014 and help us to combat cancer by striking it before it takes root.

- 3. • Indian Cancer Society is the oldest Cancer NGO in India. • Founded in 1951 in Mumbai and 1983 in Delhi. • Our objective is to provide awareness and education, as well as high quality low cost cancer screening. • Our volunteers visit patients at hospitals to offer emotional support and financial assistance to the deserving. Funds raised by Indian Cancer Society through the marathon will go towards – Spreading awareness among the masses Preventive screening Medical ( chemo therapy and radiotherapy ) assistance to patients
- 4. FACTS One in eleven bed in hospitals are occupied by patients who are cancer afflicted. These numbers are only increasing. 11lakhs/year new cases Cancer sees no class, age or financial condition . Death due to cancer 5lakh/year Who doesn’t fear the scourge of Cancer? Reporting @late stage -70% Being struck with cancer can drain families emotionally and financially. 1/3rd cancer – preventable, 1/3rd cancer treatable.

CORPORATE CHALLENGE II– Corporate donating Rs.2.25lakhs for a team of 25 I PLEDGE – Individual raising donations in any amount YOUTH CHALLENGE – Students of educational institutions raising a cumulative amount of Rs. 50,000 CORPORATE CHALLENGE III – Corporate donating Rs. 3.5 lakhs for a team of 40
