11. UNIQUENESS?
Two of the most
interesting test matches
ever are presented on
the right.
This situation is so rare
that it has only occured
twice in the 140 year
history of Test cricket.
DRAW TESTS WITH SCORES LEVEL
12. ID X AND Y
The origins of X’s name was said to have been inspired by the
Australian cricket legend Sir Don Bradman.
In 1932 Bradman and the Australian team were touring North
America and he made the news after being dismissed for 0 against
New York West Indians. Y was in the process of creating a "friend" for
______ _____ when he read about Bradman's dismissal in the papers
and decided to name the new character X.
DONALD DUCK
WALT DISNEY
13. ID X
“The choice of X was reassuringly easy.” Booth said.
“That spell won England the World Cup, so in my mind it was going to
take something pretty extraordinary to topple X from the perch. And the
fact that it wasn't a token pick was important.”
The old-school pick might have been Steve Smith, but cricket has
moved beyond that now.
ANYA SHRUBSOLE
Anya Shrubsole, whose six-wicket haul led
England to victory over India in the final,
has become the first woman to feature on
the cover of Wisden Cricketers' Almanack.

16. WHO?
This cricketer played 96 tests, 287 ODIs and 13 T20Is yet never bowled
a single ball.
However, he got a wicket on the only ball he bowled in T20s (domestic).
ADAM GILCHRIST
17. TO WHOM?
With the toss of a coin to start the Australia v South Africa test match
in Adelaide in November 2016, it is only fitting that the coin
commemorates X, who played his last test cricket match against the
South Africans back in 1964.
On the other hand, Y has been on the national $5 bill since 1986, and
is known for being the first black cricketer to captain the West Indies
cricket team.
RAHUL DRAVID
18. ID X AND Y

SIR FRANK WORRELL
19. WHY?
Shadab Kabir played only 3
ODIs for his country.
He scored 3 consecutive ducks
and faced a total of five balls,
never to be called back again.
He didn’t bowl in those 3 ODIs
either.
However, he has an ODI Man
of the Match to his name.
ALL XI WERE GIVEN MOTM
20. WHO?
NATHAN LYON
21. FITB
“No one expected the Indians to put up such a miserable show, and
_________ was the chief culprit in this sordid drama.” said Dennis
Compton in no uncertain terms.
“It was the most disgraceful and selfish performance I have ever
seen… The entire party is upset about it. Our national pride is too
important to be thrown away like this.”, said the team manager.
What event lead to such comments against an Indian cricketer?
SUNIL GAVASKAR’S 36*(174)
22. SPECIAL?
Under the captaincy of
Lala Amarnath, India
toured down under to
take on Don Bradman’s
team.
While India lost the series
0-4, this match witnessed
something very special,
the first of a kind.
FIRST MANKADING
Mankad, in the act of delivering the ball, held on to it and whipped the
bails off with Brown well out of his crease.
The dismissal got extensive coverage in the Australian press, with Mankad
being accused of unsportsmanlike behaviour. The term "mankaded"
caught on in the wake of the controversy.

29. WHO?
During the IPL auction, this was posted on Reddit. A play on the name
of a player, who was this post all about?
JOFRA ARCHER
Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less was Jeffrey Archer's first novel, first
published in 1976. It was said to have been inspired by Archer's real-life
experience of near-bankruptcy.
30. SOMETHING UNIQUE?
The next slide shows the first innings scorecard of the 3rd Test of
the India tour of England at Birmingham.
This is the only instance of something happening in test history,
which might come across as a surprise to many.
30. SOMETHING UNIQUE?
SPIN QUARTET IN THE SAME MATCH
31. GIVE FUNDA
In London's Battersea Park district, Tom Gueterbock, a 32-year-old
bought a four-bedroom, Victorian terrace house a few years ago. It
was the tenth house on the street.
When his family wanted to move to a bigger place, he approached
the wisden.com website to help publicise the sale of his £495,000
home, which he thought might particularly appeal to Indian cricket
fans.
THE ADDRESS - 10, DULKA ROAD
32. GIVE FUNDA
In a unique idea, the Board of
Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)
wants the trophy for the Freedom
Trophy Cricket series to be played
between India and South Africa to
be made with ________.
To make it possible, BCCI chief
Shashank Manohar has written a
letter the authorities asking to
provide required materials.
JAIL BARS
33. CLAIM TO FAME?
Steven Stern is currently the Professor of
Data Science at Bond University.
In addition, He is a highly sought after
data analyst and consultant, having
undertaken work for numerous
government departments and industry
bodies.
Where would we have heard his name?
THE ‘S’ IN DLS METHOD
34. ID X AND Y
In a Test match in Bangladesh in 2006, immediately after another
series in South Africa, Gilchrist was heard praising the virtues of
numerous Cricket Australia and personal sponsors.
“Come on Binga - one for the boys at Travelex now.”
“Travelex Foreign Exchange boys! Plenty of energy from a Milo Energy
Bar. Keep it well oiled with Castrol boys. Come on.”
What made Gilchrist sway away from the usual sledging?
PROTEST AGAINST STUMP MICS
The Australian cricketers have been complaining about the stump
mics being left up to catch the comments of Australian fielders during
the recent tests in South Africa and Bangladesh.
Broadcasters sell ads - they don't want the players giving them away
for free.
35. FITB
While not much is known about Sir Viv’s footballing career as he gave
up the sport early on after establishing himself as an international
cricketer, he represented his country in both World Cup cricket and
World Cup football (albeit, just the qualifying stage).
But many years later, in the 21st century, Australian ______ _____
became the first person to represent their country in the Football as
well as Cricket World Cups at the big stage.
35. FITB

36. GIVE FUNDA

WEST INDIES’ THREE TITLES IN 2016
MEN'S, WOMEN'S & UNDER-19
37. GIVE FUNDA
The second India vs Pakistan ODI at Sialkot didn’t see a result as no
more than 40 overs could be bowled. What was unique reason for
stoppage of play?
DEATH OF INDIRA GANDHI
38. WHAT FOLLOWED?
In the 1884-85 Ashes, Billy Murdoch, the then Australian captain put
forward demands which were simple but, as per Alfred Shaw and
Arthur Shrewsbury, preposterous: he demanded half the gate money
for his team.
Shaw and Shrewsbury mentioned that the demand “Coming from a
team supposed to be composed of amateurs and playing at home,
staggered us. We replied that 30 per cent was the utmost we could
afford to give. We held it was absurd, not to say ungenerous, to expect
the same sum for playing at home as would be paid to a team who had
travelled thousands of miles in pursuit of their profession.”
ALL NEW PLAYING XI FOR 2ND TEST
VCA did not agree, and the entire Australian team from the Adelaide
Test boycotted the second Test.
Horan was then asked to assemble a team. He ended up recalling
Sammy Jones (who had played three Tests before) and nine
debutants.
This meant that Blackham missed a Test for the first time. Blackham
had been the only cricketer to play in all the 17 Tests played till then,
but eventually missed out on the 18th Test ever. The run thus came
to an end.
39. GIVE FUNDA
When you hover your mouse pointer over the r/cricket banner, it
changes into a key – more specifically a car key.
Explain this weird connection of a car key to the cricket pitch.
TRIBUTE TO TONY GREIG
He was regarded as one of cricket's top commentators in his career,
noted for being unbiased, witty, and deeply enthusiastic about the
game.
His pitch reports, where he would use a car key or a pen to illustrate
pitch characteristics or crack sizes (including the odd moment where
his implements would become stuck in the pitch), were fondly
remembered and imitated by fans.
40. FITB
X had a reputation for being a scourge of spinners. In fact, so
awesome was his posture at the crease and so voracious his appetite
for runs that the Indian players were often heard telling him, “______
_____ ____” (X, please stop now).
But X neither stopped nor showed any mercy on Bedi and company,
who were never treated with such disdain by any other batsman
before, not even by Vivian Richards.
He remains the second highest on the all-time ICC ODI batting
rankings.

In the 1884-85 Ashes, Billy Murdoch, the then Australian captain put forward demands which were simple but, as per Alfred Shaw and Arthur Shrewsbury, preposterous: he demanded half the gate money for his team. Shaw and Shrewsbury mentioned that the demand “Coming from a team supposed to be composed of amateurs and playing at home, staggered us. We replied that 30 per cent was the utmost we could afford to give. We held it was absurd, not to say ungenerous, to expect the same sum for playing at home as would be paid to a team who had travelled thousands of miles in pursuit of their profession.”
  • 114.

  • 120. 40. FITB X had a reputation for being a scourge of spinners. In fact, so awesome was his posture at the crease and so voracious his appetite for runs that the Indian players were often heard telling him, “______ _____ ____” (X, please stop now). But X neither stopped nor showed any mercy on Bedi and company, who were never treated with such disdain by any other batsman before, not even by Vivian Richards. He remains the second highest on the all-time ICC ODI batting rankings.
