- So we push as much as possible through ezproxy. This includes EDS and SFX content RISE approach is to use the ezprpxy data as Base layer of data comes from the ezproxy logfiles We add data about which course students are studying We add search information from the RISE interfaces Improve data by sending queries to EDS and SFX
- Blue – ezproxy logfiles Green – added from internal data matching Grey – added from searches Red – from EDS and SFX
- We have most data for course recommendations but only about six months worth – RISE gives us a reason to keep the data longer than we would otherwise related resources, we need more data – hypothesis would be that the recommendations improve the more data the recommendations engine sees
- Undergraduates seem happy to have recommendations based on what other undergrads are looking at Postgrads want recommendations with an academic seal of approval
- But we will review the EDINA data release to see if we need to modify to make it more compatible
