FAMILIAR WITH
ABBREVIATIONS

2. – is a shortened form of a written word or
phrase used in place of the whole word or phrase. It
makes words easier and simple to be remembered. It
saves time and printing. It is used to squeeze a word
into a little space.
Ex.
"Amt" is an abbreviation for "amount."
"USA" is an abbreviation of "United States of America.“
M.A. = Master of Arts
p.m. = post meridian ( afternoon)
a.m. = ante meridian ( before noon)
Mrs. = Mistress
etc. = et cetera ( and the rest )
e.g. – exempli grata ( for example)
