1. Black Jack Brigade Spouse Spur Ride 3 November 2011 What is a Spur Ride? A spouse spur ride is an event consisting of common Soldier tasks. The Black Jack Spur Ride will include vehicle and weapon simulators, land navigation, and an obstacle course designed for the spouses of Black Jack Soldiers who want to earn their spurs and experience the fun and adventure of a Cavalry Soldier’s job. (Participants must be at least 17 years of age. NO children are allowed on the Spur Ride course. **) When and Where is it? The Black Jack Brigade Spur Ride will be on Thursday, November 3rd from 8:15am – 2:00pm. All participants must be pre-registered and pre-paid by October 27th. Sign-in between 7:30am and 8:15am on November 3rd. The event will start in the Fort Hood CCTT parking lot (directions and map will be provided to those that register). All events will be within walking distance. What Do I Wear? All participants are expected to wear long pants (camouflage or denim will work well) and their Spur Ride t-shirt (provided at sign-in). Closed-toe shoes (boots or sneakers) are required. There will be light physical activity involved in all events. How Do I Sign Up? Participants must provide their full name and t-shirt size (Adult S, M, L, or XL) via email to RedDragonFRG@rocketmail.com and pre-pay for the event. The cost to participate is $15, which includes a Black Jack Spur Ride t-shirt, spur lapel pin, refreshments, and the spur certificate. All registrations and payments (cash or money order only, no checks) must be received by CPT Lewis or CPT Freeman no later than Thursday, October 27th. A medical waiver form will be provide at check-in for all participants to complete.
