Director of Land
Established a Contract Management system, tracking obligations within the contract to make certain all terms
of the contracts were timely honored. Tracked and maintained both Corporate and Land contracts.
Responsible for tracking and maintaining highly confidential contracts and reporting only to the President or
Chief Financial Officer when obligations were coming due.
Developed and implemented a system for interfacing the Land Department’s Division Order Title Opinions
with the Accounting Department for payment of royalties. The system insured proper post production costs
are deducted from revenue, as well as tracking any curative obligations that may cause payment of royalties to
be suspended.
Created a checklist and procedure for the Reserve Report to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley. This involved
implementing a policy wherein the Engineering Tech prepared the report and provided the Reserve Report to
the Contract Manager. The Contract Manager compared the interests used in the Reserve Report to the
terms of the contracts and title opinions to ensure the working interests were accurate.
Assist with all Audits providing documents, researching and answering questions. This included but was not
limited to partner audits, audits against other operators, SEC-Sarbanes Oxley and Lessor audits.
Developed and prepared Quarterly Reports for lending institutions and their attorneys to comply with the
terms of finance agreements. Assisted with Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments and reported the results
to the lenders.
Developed Due Diligence checklists to coordinate the Land, Accounting, Geological and Engineering reviews
of any possible acquisitions or divestitures. Supervised the Land Department’s portion of the Due Diligence.
Provided weekly updates to Senior Management and assisted in preparing the final reports. Work with Senior
Management and Attorneys preparing contracts, negotiating, and closing the acquisitions or divestitures.
Implemented a procedure to coordinate permitting, surveying, title opinions, wells, drilling and pipeline
construction in order to avoid costly down time. This included reviewing abstracts and writing Stand-up

Drilling Title Opinions in order to get ahead of the rig. Also working closely with the Attorneys assigned to
prepare Drilling Title Opinions to insure wells, roads and pipelines are clear for activities to begin.
Drafted training instructions and taught Landmen regarding pooling, well density, division orders, division of
interests, post production costs, curing title and shut-ins.
Regulatory and Compliance Supervisor - created and implemented an H2S Public Education Program for
NorthStar as required in the Michigan Gas Safety Standards. Assisted Counsel in drafting a Loss & Spill
prevention plan. Authored the companies Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material policy to insure safe
handling of equipment. Created and implemented a well patrol program to insure wells were maintained in
accordance with State regulations.

Supervised Due Diligence teams in Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Texas and Colorado for various
clients. Responsible for preparing final reports or assisting clients Management with their final report.
Developed a strong reputation for timely insuring there were no material title defects in the leases that were
not reported to the client. Assist the client in reporting the title defects to the sellers and advising the seller
how to cure the defect to meet the clients’ standards.
Supervised up to 40 abstracters, title examiners, leasing brokers and rights-of-way agents in various counties
in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky.
Supervised in-house staff preparing division orders, assignments, releases, unitization agreements and joint
operating agreements for various clients.
