so
it’s
now
just
a
matter
of
finding
them
and
seeing
if
they’ll
do
an
interview
Our
Audience
Who
is
our
audience
and
how
should
the
documentary
be
tailored
to
them?
It’s
very
important
we
understand
this
if
we
are
going
to
appeal
for
their
charity.
How
can
we
research
this?
• Questionnaires
We
need
to
know:
•
how
long
they
expect
it
to
be
•
artistic
expectations
(artistic
look,
lens
flares,
High-‐Definition,
basic?)
•
appeals
previously
seen
on
average
• Group
Experiment
Select
a
random
sample
of
music/media
students,
split
them
into
groups
and
present
each
group
with
a
different
type
of
documentary
(one
artistic,
one
basic,
one
funny)
and
see
the
effect
it
has
on
the
audience,
fill
out
questionnaire
afterwards
and
compare
results
• Research
into
Music
Documentaries
and
Charity
Appeals
The
typical
Musician’s
documentary
is
presented
artistically;
take
for
instance
Live
at
Abbey
Road,
which
is
shot
in
HD
featuring
focus
pulls
and
large
cinematic
depth
of
fields.
This
is
one
style,
the
typical
style
associated
to
music-‐literate
audiences
which
we
want
to
combine
with
the
Charity
Appeal
documentary,
such
as
Secret
Millionaire,
a
different
genre
in
it’s
own
right
in-‐which
we
must
create
a
successful
hybrid
We
currently
see
our
audience
as
Musicians
and
students
of
music,
this
is
because
there
is
a
large
focus
on
Ryan
Inglis,
a
musician,
and
also
a
main
focus
on
the
Charlie
Derrick
Bursary
which
aims
to
help
young
students
of
music.
Whether
this
is
an
accurate
estimate
of
our
audience
shall
be
revealed
through
research.
